Team Approach to Cancer Care
Our cancer patients are treated individually,
based on their needs. The multidisciplinary
team includes surgeons, medical and radiation
oncologists, pulmonologists, radiologists,
pathologists, palliative care specialists, nurses,
dietitians, support staff and more - all working
to support patients through their journeys to
prevent or beat cancer.
Walter Vogel, MD (left)
Medical Oncologist. Triple board-certified in Internal
Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
He has practiced in Beloit since 1987.
Peter Mahler, MD, PhD (right)
Radiation Oncologist. Board-certified physician,
clinical professor of Human Oncology at the
UW School of Medicine and Public Health.
He practices full-time at Beloit Cancer Center.

The UW Carbone Cancer Center is the only
comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin as
designated by the National Cancer Institute. By
working together, we can offer this advanced care
in Beloit.

Healing Environment
• The new Elekta® Linear Accelerator offers
advanced cancer treatment and is used by some of
the premiere cancer facilities in the country.
• With new Image Guided Radiation capabilities, we
can now pinpoint the radiation to the exact location
of the cancer cells, even changing the radiation
location with the slightest movement of a patient’s
breath.
• Our medical oncology area offers 15 private or
semi-private infusion areas with large windows.
• We offer a lab and medication preparation area
• The beautiful 22,000 square foot center is built on
more than five acres conveniently located on the
corner of Lee Lane and Milwaukee Roads (Hwy 81)
in Beloit. Close to major highways including
Hwy 43 and I-90.
• There is a scenic pond with two fountains, serenity
pond, and a flowing stream with waterfalls
providing a pleasing environment for patients.
• Paved walkways and seating areas are placed
around the ponds and prairie for patient and
family enjoyment.
