How Safe Is my Data?
All factory data is tracked using an individual six digit number
and stored securely. Even if someone was able to access the
raw data they would not be able to identify the factory as no
factory specific data, such as address or company details is
kept in the database.
No detailed information is shared, such as cast volume or
output volume. The only shared data are the specific KPIs
such as Global Yield.
If we believe that your factory is the Best in the World for one
of the categories then we will approach you separately for
permission to share your details in the report but are happy
for you to decline or share, as you wish.

FAQ?
• Why can’t I just do this myself?
Many jurisdictions ban companies from sharing this type of information directly as being anti-competitive and not in
the public interest. However there is no problem with sharing fully anonymous data, averages and best in class
information. Additionally many companies calculate these measures in different ways. Is clay loss just casting loss or
does it include all pre-kiln losses. How do you account for Work in Progress changes? The MWWB methodology means
that all factories are measured in the same way and audited by a truly independent expert.
• How do I know my data won’t be shared with or stolen by my competitors?
All factories are registered using a six digit code. Any data stored by MWWB is only linked to this number. Even if a
competitor could get hold of the data they would not be able to identify the factory. The only data that is shared is
processed data, such as yields and OEEs and this only anonymously.
• Why can’t I just send in my data, where is the need for a visit?
To make the data useful it is essential to ensure that it is accurate and trustworthy, this makes an audit important.
MWWB consider that it is ideal to complete audits every second or third year where there are no issues.
• I’d also like to compare measurement X with my competitors
MWWB are always looking for ways to improve their service and are always willing to consider expanding the range
of measurements offered. Of course this will also depend on the willingness of other companies to share this
particular data type. Of course at any time a competitor can choose not to share a particular set of any data but this
means that they would not then have access to the relevant data from competitors.
