Industry Standard Tools and Techniques
The A. Umit Taftali Center for Capital Markets
and Investing is a technology-centered
classroom that houses Bloomberg terminals
and brings Wall Street to University Avenue.
The facility simulates a real-world financial
environment which allows students the
opportunity for hands-on training in the
workings of financial markets, financial
modeling, and valuation.
Innovative Teaching
The Student Managed Investment Fund allows
students with career or personal interests
in investments and portfolio management
the opportunity to gain valuable experience
managing a real $800,000 equity portfolio,
and are responsible for security selection,
investment strategy, and fund performance.
Corporate Treasury Management Program
The Finance program was recently approved
by the Association for Financial Professionals
to participate in the Corporate Treasury
Management (CTM) Program. This consists of
a semester-long course designed to broaden
the academic experience by preparing
students to sit for the Certified Treasury
Professional (CTP) examination. Treasury
professionals execute critical functions
related to corporate liquidity, capital and risk
management.
Financial Planning Program
The Finance program was recently
approved by the CFP® Board to offer
coursework addressing the major personal
financial planning areas prior to taking the
comprehensive CFP Certification Examination.
Certified Financial Planner™ professionals
are uniquely qualified to help individuals pull
all their finances together, solve financial
problems, and make a plan to achieve financial
goals.
