1. Bukht Bibi Society BBS
Established in village Faridabad Taluka Mehar
District Dadu Pakistan in 1998 and registered under
the societies registration act XXI of 1860 No.3935 on
26.10.1999, BBS aims to be a key player providing
replicable models for integrated social and economic
development in Sindh Pakistan. Over that past
nearly one decade, it has grown from being a one
person entrepreneur oriented set up to being a
modest but effective organization with many people.
Its activities have grown, from an initial focus on
training for community leaders and education for
girls to a more integrated approach including income
generation, women health, empowerment of the
rural and marginalised poor and advocacy support.
BBS’s work contributes directly towards : Eradicate
Extreme Hunger and Poverty; Achieve Universal Primary Education; Promote
Gender Equality and Empower Women; Reduce Child Mortality; Improve Maternal
Health; Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases and Ensure Environmental
Sustainability. However, BBS’s main work areas are as follows:
Education and Literacy Sustainable Livelihoods
• with focus on education • promotes simple home
primarily for girls, but grown technologies for
increasingly now on boys, sustainable use of natural
adult literacy and provision resources and provides
of a learning environment micro-credit for poor
entrepreneurs. BBS works
with local artisans especially
women to improve their
skills and provide access to
marketing handicrafts and
local products.
