3. Details of Proposed Idea- The majority of students and faculty at Ithaca College don’t go on the Ithaca College
Dining Hall website because it is confusing, unorganized and the majority of us I would say are lazy and don’t want
to go on the computer to figure out what each dining hall is serving during breakfast, lunch and dinner. In
continuation,in each of the dining halls there is a plain colored board with pieces of paper in a box where you can
write what you like or didn’t like about what the dining halls were serving to the community. However, many of us
are lazy, can’t find a utensilto write with so don’t botherfinding one, dont have the time to write a comment, think
that our own opinion doesn’t matter and won’t lead to them changing what they are serving, think that the p eople
working the Dining Hall services won’t care about what anyone writes because they aren’t in control of what we eat
each day of the week or maybe even scared to write what they like or didn’t like on what food the Ithaca College
dining services were serving because are name would be on the sheet of paper and they might look down on you
after writing a bad comment about why you didn’t like what they were serving.
Our group came up with an idea in which all of these problems will be solved.We will create an app for the I-Phone
and Android. This app is called Dineysus.On this application there will be many tabs consisting of a homepage, a
peek selection, a campus map, dining plans and a section called the staff. These tabs are at the bottomof the pag e.
The homepage will consist of all the Dining choices you can choose from like Resident dining, Retail dining and
Grab and Go. However, since there are so many dining halls there will be subcategories underResident dining. This
will allow you to choose which resident dining hall you are looking for. After clicking one of these choices it will
let you know what’s on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner for each food station that is serving in each dining
hall. In addition, it will let you know their hours of operation and the staff that are working there and what their job
is. Also if you have any questions about what type of food they are serving, hours of operation, employment or any
other questions each dining hall, retail dining or Grab and Go will have a phone number you can call. The next tab is
called peek selection. Peek Selection lets you see what other people at Ithaca College (mostly students and faculty)
are writing about the food being served and lets you write or comment about how the food was. You could also
write about how the staff that work there treated you or how long are the lines to get something. However, this is all
done anonymously and all information you post on the app is confidential. This will make users not worried about
what they posted on the app and I believe will make more people use it. These post by users than can be up voted or
down voted similar to Reddit or Yik Yak. These posts then can be commented on and each post you comment on or
upvote or downvote you will receive an IC food point. These points can earn you a betterreputation and help the
dining hall staff. The third tab is called the campus map. By clicking the campus map the app will let you know
where all the dining services are on campus and which one is the closest to yourdestination. Also by clicking one of
the dining services on our virtual map it will become a GPS on how to get there and what the estimated time of
arrival would be. This is beneficial for students who are first year students as well as visitors on campus. This will
make them feel more welcomed and less likely to get lost. The fourth tab is the dining hall plans also known as your
4. meal plan information. This allows you to view the meal plan options.The meal plan options that Ithaca College has
app pre-registered. Just download and enter netpass username and password.
For our application I believe there are many stakeholders who would be interested in or especially doing
business with our app. The amount of primary stakeholders in Ithaca that would want this app or to do some type of
business with us would be off the charts.This app we believe will ultimately maximize profits and enhance
shareholder value. Geographically this app will only be beneficial in Ithaca, however this is only the start of what is
to come for other college campuses. The demographic of this app will tend lean towards the youth population,
however the older generation also are factors for this app because the youth will be giving their own opinions on
what needs to be changed on the College Campus, which leads to the older generation becoming part of the solution.
The types of stakeholders that would want this app would be students ofIthaca College, the faculty, future students,
visitors, parents of students and most importantly the dining hall staff. The types of businesses and corporations that
would want to invest in this app would be sodexo, Ithaca banks (First Niagara, Chemung Canal Trust Company,
CFCU Community Credit Union, Tompkins Trust Company) and many Ithaca venture capital investors.
The students and faculty of Ithaca would appreciate this application because with the click of a couple of
buttons on their phones they would know what the dining hall staff is serving each day and at what time. This gives
students/faculty a better opportunity to choose and then go to the right dining halls when they are serving the food
they love. This will help students/faculty avoid foods they don’t like in the cafeteria and then students/faculty can
write a comment anonymously to the dining hall staff. In addition, this app will save peoples precious time because
the majority of students/faculty like us have to walk in the dining hall blindfolded not knowing what food the dining
halls are serving and then have to look at all the food being served before deciding what we want. Students/faculty
will want to buy this app because the value will be worth much more than what you will be paying for to receive this
app and according to Benjamin Franklin’s famous quote “Time is Money.”
Future students at Ithaca College will download this app. Many websites such as College Prowler, College
Navigator, US News, Forbes and etc have statistics about which College dining halls have the best tasting food and
service. When trying to find the right college many high schoolers first look at how good is the education and then
secondly look at how good is the food there. At many college and universities students,faculty,workers and other
individuals on these college campuses usually have no say about food they want the dining hall staff to serve today.
This app will be intriguing and interesting to incoming Ithaca College students because they will have a way of
communicating what food they want the dining halls to serve and what foods the dining hall staff should avoid
preparing. This will have an enormous impact on high schoolers who are looking to go to Ithaca. By having this app
Ithaca College I believe will have more applications than ever before, as well as a happier community on campus.
I believe visitors will want to come back and visit again as well as having parents of students visiting more
often because they are not worried about the food they are serving. By having more visitors and parents return to the
College this will create more revenue for the school.More people will be buying food on campus instead of off
campus and
The dining hall staff would be more enthusiastic,very interested and would love the feedback from their
consumers about what foods they’re making for the college. Feedback works best when it relates to a specific
goal. Our goal is to create ________. By having this app it raises expectations of the dining staff by
performing what the consumers want. Also by having this app it updates the employees by having
receiving new comments, upvotes or downvotes about what they’re making and how they’re doing as
timely as possible. If improvement needs to be made in their performance this app will let them know
sooner rather than later and will help solve all problems. If the employees find out through this app that
5. they have reached or exceeded their goals as a staff they will feel rewarded and will love all the positive
feedback they will be receiving from everyone they serve on campus. This type of feedback will help
boost their confidence and most of all will help raise their performance. This app will give the staff better
feedback than the feedback we give them right now. In addition, it reinforces what the employee did right
and then identifies what needs to be done in the future. Chefs love to advice and like to hear what they
can improve upon to satisfy their consumers needs.
The nature of the relationship of our startup is that it pertains to everyone that goes to Ithaca College, the
students and faculty,the dining hall staff, the parents that have to pay for their childs tuition, businesses that are
associated with the college and etc. It pertains to students and faculty because we want the best quality and type of
food in our dining halls and if we don’t like something they are serving we will comment on it. However, if the
students/faculty like something the dining hall served students and faculty will give positive feedback. This app will
also help students knowwhat the dining halls are serving each day and at each meal.This app will let students know
what their hours of operations are and will let students become more aware of what dining hall or retail dining they
should go to. Next startup also pertains to the dining hall staff. It lets them know what they s hould or shouldn’t be
cooking for the consumers and will get positive or negative feedback about the cleanliness, service and how good or
bad the food was at that specific dining hall or retail dining. This startup also acknowledges parents of the students
that go here. The startup will let parents know they are spending their money wisely by making their kids happy by
trying to bring and make Ithaca Colleges retail and dining hall food like the food the individuals at college would
have if they were to go back and have a home cooked meal. Lastly, this startup relates to businesses and other
organizations that are associated with the college. These organizations will want to invest their money in Ithaca
College because this startup will be financially beneficial to the college and these businesses will want to take the
opportunity with the act of committing money with the expectation of obtaining an additional income or profit.
The motivation that will drive these stakeholders to purchase this app will be what food are dining halls and retail
dining are serving currently. I believe the majority of campus doesn’t like the food, the service, and the way the
dining here is operated.. As well, the dining hall staff will want to get this app because they want to know what they
are doing wrong and how they can improve upon their mistakes. They want to hear feedback because and hopefully
they would want to become betterat their job.
I don’t think anybody needs influencing about downloading this app. I think people will want to get this app because
this is how the campus food and service will change for the better. The majority of this campus knows and believes
that the college does need to do make a change about the food, informing us what is going to be served,service,
hours of operation, and etc.

being the stakeholders with the most effect on the success our app, and the top being the
stakeholders with the least affect. We have current students and future students as our most
important stakeholders because they are our target audience. However, more importantly than
that these are the ones who will sale our app to the rest of the stakeholders; along with our next
set of stakeholders, the parents. Parents have a lot more say on the Ithaca College community
than they know. It’s because of this power we are hoping to get the parents to adopt the idea of
the app so they can use their pull on the college community. Through the push of the parent we
plan to force school to adopt the apps into their system. Leading into our next set of
stakeholders, investors and Ithaca college dining service. The success of the app within the
Ithaca college dining service will hopefully attract investors. Investors willing to take our
company to the next level and make it national. Spreading “Dineysus” to every college and
university around the United States. Each stakeholder are in order of importance to reaching the
ultimate goal, becoming a national app used app in the app store.
