townships of Yangon and Ayeyarwaddy Regions where 90% of aquaculture farm are
existed. The Secondary data were drawn from various sources. The study found that in
the upstream, hatcheries, nurseries, labor and transportation segments are developing but
aqua-feed, equipment and machineries segments needed to improve. In the midstream,
natural resources, farming practice and experiences, labor issues are favorable to pond
owners but land tenure, access to finance, technical extension and veterinary services

the downstream, intermediaries, whole sellers, traders, are functioning well. Regional
market, wet market, labor, transportation are satisfactory level for local market. But

international markets. Private sector need to invest export oriented value added fisheries
products industries.
