3. Scars are most commonly known for shaping a
character’s identity. One of the most famous examples
is harry potters ‘z’ scar. It has huge significance as it
used to build up his powers. Another famous example is
the joker from Batman. His scar is a permanent smile,
which leads him to become the ‘Joker’. From looking at
these examples we have decided to use a scar for our
film opening because we feel it will express our
character’s ability. In addition scars are also used as
entertainment as it helps to create a person’s identity. In
our opening the character (little boy) picks up an arrow,
which leaves a permanent change to his body. We felt
that a scar will show the characters personal history and
will foreshadow later events.
