 India is the fifth largest preferred retail destination globally.
 The country is among the highest in the world in terms of per capita
retail store availability.
 India’s retail sector is experiencing exponential growth, with retail
development taking place not just in major cities and metros, but also in
Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
 Healthy economic growth, changing demographic profile, increasing
disposable incomes, urbanisation, changing consumer tastes and
preferences are the other factors driving growth in the organised retail
market in India.
 India’s population is taking to online retail in a big way.

 In Q4 2015 Magic Mirror was launch during in Shoppers Stop Mumbai’s Inorbit Mall store.

 It has also tied up with hyperlocal e-grocers such as ZopNow, Grofers and PepperTap, who picked up
grocery from HyperCITY for deliveries.
 Shoppers stop also entered into strategic alliances with major e-commerce players like Amazon,
Flipkart, Jabong and PayTM to sell shoppers stop brands on these marketplaces in 2015.
 Shoppers Stop accepts Freecharge wallet in all its stores.
 The beginning of 2016 saw the launch of new mobile apps, both on Android & iOS platform.

 1. If a customer is walking out of the store or walking out of the brand
section due to below reasons of products not available In the store:-

 c) Non availability of products which he/she is looking for

 FC is like a smart card which is issued to customers for Rs. 300 which is a
part of loyalty program of shoppers stop which provide customers better
shopping facilities.

 BNM is a team which operate from Mumbai which take all the decisions
regarding buying of merchandise.
DC (Distribution center)
 It is located in Bhiwandi, Mumbai.
 The main task of the DC is to stock all the merchandise sent by the BNM
team.
 90% of Apparel category comes from DC
 Process:-
 STM(stock transfer memo)
 Transfer number

 RBI handle all the merchandise of the stores that comes and goes out of
the store and ensure that all the inventory are available at the right time
and at the right place and at the lower cost.
FUNCTIONS:-
 Cross checking
 Recording into the system
 Maintaining the record

 All the non-apparel products used to come to the store through these
DSD process.
 BNM directly deal with the vendors for buying the merchandise which
account 10% of the store merchandise.
 Process:-
o Create PO (purchase order)
o Place order to vendor

 It is a system whereby the products can be brought from other stores in
the demand of the customers if that particular products are physically not
available in the store.
 In this process of IBT no vendor intervene.
 Process:-
o Create transfer number
o Create SKU number

 It is the system of selling the products independently.
 Example of such consignment mode in shoppers stop is Zinc London.
 Pay rent to the store for the display of the goods in the store.

 Visual merchandising refers to anything that can be seen by the customer
inside and outside a store, including displays, decorations, signs and layout of
space. The overall purpose of visual merchandising is to get customers to
come into the store and spend money.

 If some products are found defective which is not in saleable condition
then such products are returned to respective vendors
 Process:-

• DM
• BNM-Vendors
• DC-vendors
Pull Back:-
keeps by the company or DC they don’t returned to vendor and after 1
year they are scrapped or given to NGOs
