➔ It is a characterized by emotional language and praise of
nature.
➔ During this time common people start reading Bible .
➔ William wordsworth ,samuel coleridge , Robert

summits or waves that own no curbing
hand, how fast has brother followed
brother,from sunshine to sunless land".

6. COMPARISON between romANTIC AGE AND VICTORIAN AGE
❏ Use of Language
➔ Romantic literature is emotionally expressive . It often
uses phrases such as “oh…!” ,”Alas!” to give the
impression of sudden onrush of feelings
➔ But the victorian poets or writers are not using such
language because they want to show the world as it
really was. So they use modern expressions and
language. And make less use of flowery metaphors and
images
9. Emotions vs Reality
➢ Romantic writers are known for emotional outbursts, as
William Wordsworth called it,
"The spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings".
➢ Romantic poetry is majority known for its sudden
expression of joy, sadness,and excitement.
➢ Victorian literature, take literature as deliberately craft
and they used careful structure and language. It's we see
in Browning' s poem, ' my last Duchess'. The poem uses
irony.so that, it will became hard to understand for their
long and complicated plot.such like Jude the obscure
10. Poetry and Prose
➔ We found romantic age reflected the glory of poetry.we
found it in the poetry of Scott, Wordsworth, Coleridge,
Byron, Shelley, Keats,moore and southey.
➔ Southey and Coleridge also wrote prose, more than
poetry.mainly they write prose for money. Willam j.
Long write in his book that southey states that,
"What would otherwise have been better written in
prose".
➔ Victorian era mainly known as age of prose
