Title: Virtual Construction Engineer II
Department: Shared Services
Reports to: Director of BIM& Construction Technology
Manages: BIMand Construction Technology Jr. Engineers / Interns / Co-Ops
Works closely with: Director of BIM& Construction Technology, Director of IT, Directorof QA, Director of Strategic
Initiatives, Learning + Innovation Specialist, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Estimators,
Superintendents, Outside Services & Vendors, Subcontractors, Designers

Position Summary:
The Virtual Construction Engineer II executes the C2C® project delivery method by utilizing creative thinking and
innovation in order to improve internal efficiencies and ultimately enhance relationships with our clients. This
position will be in direct support of several exciting initiatives spanning from 3D BIM implementation to cost model
database configuration to drone implementation. This position also supports the development and implementation
of new areas relating to BIM and Construction Technology as assigned.
High Payoff Activities/ Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Implementation: Ensures successful implementation and utilization of company advocated construction technology
tools.
2. Collaboration: Works closely with associated company departments to accurately determine current and long-term
needs concerning construction technology.
3. Research and Analysis: Remains current with construction technology products and trends. Analyzes and develops
cost/benefit studies and makes recommendations for company adoption
4. Training and Coordination: Proactively develops and implements training strategies and tactics to increase utilization
and efficacy of construction technology.
Additional Activities/ Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Directly support the Director of BIM/Construction Technologies in execution of initiatives.
2. Assist in the development of future technology initiative development/vision and assist in presentation to
company leadership.
3. Facilitate 3D model-based multi-disciplinary trade coordination in preparation for construction and production
of coordination drawings as required.
4. Create and modify 3D Architectural, Structural, and MEP models in Revit and other various software
environments.
5. Provide virtual and in-person support to company in regard to 3D models, 2D drawings and graphics to
support construction through collaborating with Estimators, Project Management, Quality Control,
Superintendents, and Subcontractors.
6. Assist in setup and implementation of mobile device technology for field viewing of models, drawings,
punchlists, quality control checklists, etc. for assigned projects.
7. Coordinate and deliver as-built/record drawing documentation as required for projects.
8. Travel required, up to 15%
9. Lead hardware and software company standards for BIMuse, working closely with IT on benchmark testing and
hardware selection.
10. Trains and mentors new Virtual Construction Engineers.
11. Organizes and delivers quarterly Field Technology Forums to all EMJ offices.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree(preferred) in Architecture, Construction Management, Computer or Engineering-related
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the AEC industry (may utilize internship or co-op experience if relevant)
Required software experience - Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar coordination software
Preferred software experience - Autodesk BIM 360 Glue/Field, Infraworks, 3D Studio Max, Lumion, Assemble Systems,
Syncro, Sysque, CAD programs, or any other 3D Modeling/Rendering software packages
