Design and fabrication of algea cutter & collecter
1. DESIGN AND FABRICATION OFALGAE CUTTER &
COLLECTOR
Algea is a big problem for water bodies .
Multi cell algae Pistia stratiotes (Jalkumbhi ) is dangerous for the aquatic life.
Single cell Algae convert in to mature algae within 3 days. Removal of Single cell algae
is also required because its handling is very difficult.
Algae cutter and collector for the removal of single cell and multi-cell algae
simultaneously.
Existing machines use Diesel or Petrol as a fuel, which emits GHG’s.

2. PARTS AND DRAWING OF MACHINE
The whole cutting mechanism will be driven by Pedal Boat by providing suitable Belt
Pulley arrangement.
Basically the cutter and collecting mechanism consists of the following parts:
Hooper
Cutting Blades
Pulley
Belt Arrangement
Wire mesh (2x2 mm)

3. COSTING & ADVANTAGES
The costing of the project will include the cost of -Pedal Boat ,Cutting Blades cost
of pulley and belt .(approx-60,000/-)
The existing machines used for this purpose are costlier than this machine.
The AMC (Annual maintenance cost ) for this machine is lower than the existing
machine.
This machine can cut the heavy biomass as well as collect the small seeds
simultaneously.
This machine is best suited for small water bodies .
This machine can be run by two modes, either by Pedal of the boat or by a electric
motor power supplied by the Solar Panel.
