2. Faster-Than-Light Propulsion
• Einstein=Faster-than-light travel impossible
• Alcubierre Drive=Object rides wave of “warping” space-time
Problem solved! Not quite...
• We don’t know how to create a “warp bubble.”
• “Ai cannae dae it, Captain….Ai jist disnae hae the power!”
3. Teleportation
• Recently achieved on the “quantum level”
• Could lead to teleportation of physical objects
Problem solved! Not quite...
• Not actually “transporting” but “replicating”
• Necessitate destruction of source object
4. Invisibility Cloak
• Refracts (bends) light around object to “cloak”
Problem solved! Not quite...but close.
• Technology already exists but needs “tweaking”
• Military application=$$$ for research
5. Hypohesis
This thesis presents the following hypothesis. Contrary to the perception that
craft beer makers sell an authentic product while the mega-brewers sell a
lifestyle the small breweries use the same lifestyle marketing techniques to sell
an “exclusive lifestyle and culture of authenticity.” A more inclusive approach on
the part of craft beer marketers could open the market to a broader range of
consumers to their mutual benefit: brewers would increase their business while
consumers would be exposed to a larger variety of quality beer.
