causing one’s own death.
• A very dangerous and sensitive topic
3. “Suicide is the most extreme and
visible symptom of the larger
mental health emergency we are so
far failing to address. Stigma, fear
and lack of understanding
compound the suffering of those
affected and prevent the bold
action that is so desperately
needed and so long overdue”

11. 1.Hinduism:
Human life is very precious, which is attainted after hundreds and
thousands of births and provides an unique opportunity to each
individual to make a quantum jump into higher planes of existence or
attain immortality.
It would therefore be a very serious mistake on the part of those
who commits suicide to escape from their responsibilities or cause
distress to others.
It would not only hamper their spiritual progress and put them
back on the path of liberation by a few lives behind, but also expose
them to the possibility of greater suffering and their downfall into
darkest hells.
12. At the same time, suicide in ancient times were accepted as an act of
self-sacrifice or renunciation. And this was done in three distinct ways
in which the elemental body was returned to elements.
The three methods of self-sacrifice were:
1. Self immolation by entering into fire (agnipravesa) – this was
making an offering of body to agni or fire.
2. Death by slow starvation (prayopavesa) – this was making an
offering of the body to the air.
3. Death by entering into cave or an underground cell ans suspending
breath in a state of sel-absorption(samadhi) – this was making an
offering of body to the earth.
13. 2. Buddhism
The basic morality of Buddhism is based on the content of
five precepts:
• Killing is evil
• Stealing is evil
• Sexual misconduct is evil
• Lying is evil
• Taking intoxicants is evil
14. And suicide is consider as a type of killing. Suicide is considered as a
form of suffering (Tanha). And no human beings can avoid suffering
by taking their own lives, nor do they escape from "the wheel of
suffering" by doing so. Moreover, the consequence of suicide is a
rebirth in the woeful planes of existence, and hence further suffering
endlessly.
Suicide are not necessarily evil in the Buddhists perspective: some are
morally accepted.
15. 3. Muslims

considered an act of unbelief and according to
(An-nissa: 48) Allah almighty forgives all sins
except for the great sin of unbelief.
According to Muslims if a person commits suicide
with a piece of iron will be punished with the sae
piece of iron in the hell-fire.
16. 4. Christianity
Bible prohibits suicide, as according to bible
murdering is considered as sin. And suicide is
considered as murder.
(According to many sources it says that Christianity does not
condemn suicide as many people committed suicide in bible but bible
talks about life and does not support suicide.)

• Make them feel special.

• If possible take them to mental health service.
19. Not all smiling faces are happy,
Not all “I’m fine” are true…
Not everyone screams “help me I’m dying”
Some have mastered the art of hiding.
So, what are you going through?
Someone in depression, or someone’s
reason for depression.
