What is promoting ?
• Support or actively encourage (a cause, venture, etc.); further the progress of.
Popular ways used to promote a business
• Media relations.
• Social media.
• Digital advertising.
• Press advertising.
• Direct mail.
• Word of month
• Search engine optimization (SEO)
• Email marketing
Why is it important to promote
• To create awareness and persuade the customers to buy the product and
services on offer.
Needs for promoting the organization external
• It inform persons what the organization does
• Bring in new clients
• Allow the organization to compete on a national level
• Boost sales

• It boost morale of worker (makes people feel more confident and cheerful)

• Close knitted workforce (they all help and support each other)

• It increase productivity (getting more done – more output – with the same
amount of input)

• Make employees feel apart of a team (you need them to feel like they belong
to one)
• Embrace team work

• It eliminate failure (you will get to know yourself better and you will learn
from your mistakes)

• Eliminate bad mouthing (Turn down invitations to pick others apart)

• Incentives will be broad base (an approach that shifts compensation to
performance-based programs and the combined value of pay and benefits).
For example team incentives will be reward instead of an individual person.
Organization ethos
• The perceived degree of character or credibility that a person believes exists
in an organization.

• The guiding principles that provide an organization with purpose and
direction.

• Integrity – know and do what is right (align decisions and actions to be
consistent with their espoused social values and demonstrate value-attuned
responsiveness to their external environment)

• Respect – treating others the way to be treated: with kindness, courtesy and
politeness

• Responsibility- the obligation of a subordinate to perform the tasks assigned
or embrace opportunities to contribute.

• Servant leadership – serve the common good or a management style in
which you focus on your team's growth and well-being to put their needs
first.

• Sportsmanship – bring your best to all competition or does not allow team
mates to accuse each other of cheating, does not resent those doing better
and does make others feel less than when they win.
