Andrew is our Head of Safety & Risk
Management and is responsible for Health,
Safety and Environmental Management
Services carried out by NPS South West. He
provides technical and professional assistance
to the NPS Group’s employees and has a
proactive approach to health, safety and
welfare gained through his previous experience,
as an Associate Director of a Health and Safety
Consultancy with a wide ranging Client base.
He has project experience as a CDM Adviser
(previously CDMC) and has worked on building
& civil engineering schemes for the public
service and private sector.
One of Andrew’s duties is to provide advice at
design meetings on operational H&S issues
(construction methods, safe access, long term
maintenance, interpretation of risk assessments
and contractors’ method statements.)
The other is to offer bespoke health, safety and
environmental consultancy services to Clients,
designed through a scope of work and agreed
prior to the work commencing in order to ensure
that employee/contractors/visitors safety is the
key focus.

Employment
Prior to working for NPS Andrew was employed
from Jul 11 – Sept 12 as an Associate Director
of New Level Safety Limited. Clients included:
Bracknell & Wokingham College; Systra Rail
Engineering; GASE Engineering; Ordnance
Survey; Oxford Instruments; VISA International
and many more. From Oct 06 – Jun 11
Andrew was a Health and Safety Consultant
(Be Shaw Your Safe Consultancy) as a sole
trader, as well as undergoing 24 years military
service in the Army.
Andrew marks exams (levels 3&6 NQF) in
Occupational Safety & Health for NEBOSH
which is a registered charity. A Chartered
Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety
and Health (CMIOSH), Practioner of the
Institute of Environmental Management and
Assessment (PIEMA), Technician Membership of
the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (TMIFPO),
Member of Global Association of Corporate
Sustainability Officers and holds the
