On the Job Training
• On-the-Job Training (OJT)
– A short-term incentive that gives you the opportunity to
reduce the cost of training a new hire. Your business can
be reimbursed for providing OJT, which includes:
• Up to 50% wage reimbursement for newly hired VR candidates
• Support Services (e.g., uniforms, tools, bus tokens), if needed
• Worksite assessment and accommodations, if needed
• Pre-hire evaluation of job applicant at your job site
– Allows for new hire to enhance job knowledge and skills
– At no-cost for your business
Work Trial Training
• CWAT: Community Work Adjustment Training
– A short-term – No Cost – On-the-Job training assessment
that gives you the opportunity to evaluate a potential
candidate. CWAT includes:
• Pre-screened candidates to meet your business needs
• Worker’s Compensation Insurance Coverage
• Opportunity to access or “try out” a candidate prior to hire
• No obligation to hire after the training period
– Helps a potential VR job seeker improve knowledge of an
employer’s jobs, work culture, enhanced job skills and
knowledge, and increase competitiveness for future hire
Business Financial Incentives
A variety of financial incentives are available to employers
who hire VR candidates or who make their business
accessible to customers with disabilities:
– Wage reimbursement for new hires (OJT)
– Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC – IRS Form 8850)
– Disabled Access Tax Credit (IRS Form 8826)
– General Business Credit/Disabled Tax Credit (IRS Form 3800)
– Architectural & Transportation Barrier Removal Tax Deduction

– Federal Fidelity Bonding for up to 6 months for new hires
