5. This project was in conjunction with Brandley Payne (a grad landscape architecture student) completing his thesis project, which was redesigning a
botanical garden. Within the garden there is a proposed convention center, hotel, restaurant and offices space. The question that I was trying to
solve during this project was, How can architecture influence the landscape? The solutions that were implemented were highlighting significant views
into the botanical garden from the building. The main focus was to the living corridor where native vegetation in Edmonton would be in the interior
of the building where it could be enjoyed throughout the year.

9. The University of Idaho Visitor Center expresses architectural form on many different levels. The glulam column capped with a steel com-
ponent supports the entire structure. At times this structural system can give the appearance of a floating roof anchored by a central mass
that erects out of the building that functions as a light well from the interior.
13. This project was completed with a group: Ben Millett, Geoffery VonZ, Andre’a Bachman and myself. We were designing head quarters for
the Coeur d’ Alene tribe. The buildings that we designed were a cultural center/museum, a raptor center and an equestrian center. Our
approach was to have the buildings become one with the landscape.

The building is for a youth camp in Virrat Finland. The camp is open year around to the youth of Finland. The intention of the sauna
design is to have the youth at the camp embrace nature and interact with other people throughout the building. The form of the building
was derived from human arms embracing one another. Likewise the form of the building is embracing nature and highlighting significant
views of the scenic landscape.

19. This project was for the Idaho CMU competition; The Building was a new Refugee Center for the City of Boise. The goal of the competition
was to challenge CMU as a material and to express it’s structural strengths. This was achieved by using a CMU pilaster with steel I-beams
to suspend the roof which allowed CMU walls to not touch the roof. This created a more naturally lit building by letting in more daylight,
while also challenging the CMU as a structural material.
