4. In a parallel lot to the Tirano train station a large building must be created with three
main functions: a research center, administration hq for the city and a parking silos.
The funcion of the building is to requalify an area not used anymore by the local popu-
lation and activating a program in Tirano to secure the territory and prevent landslides
which happened in the past. Its purpose is also to become a landmark for the area.

7. The architecture is linear by following the railway yard and it
is concentrated in a central square which all main buildings
open to while one of the main references used to gain the
shape and distribution is El Lissitzky’s horizontal skyscraper.

8. The project consists in the creation of an ementary school in North-West Milan,
which replaces an old structure. The new school is not only used by the students
but also the community by studying different entrances and timetables. The main
volumes of the school are realised in X-lam and present very regular shapes
(classrooms, canteen and gym) while the connections between them are irregular.

10. The school has different typologies of clas-
srooms: on the ground floor classroms are
for younger children, so the furniture is mo-
vable and permits different activities. On
the first floor classes are designed for older
students and are more suitable for lectures.

12. The project responds to a particular need in the neighbourhood for more secure areas
where children can stay under the observation of their parents. The pavilion is divided
into 3 main spaces: playground for children, study area and a common area for the
parents where there is direct visibility on the first two. Storage areas are in the base-
ment. The architecture is intertwined and has colorful aspect because its main goal is
also to change perception of the area which presents a standard type of architecture.

14. The project consists in replacing the old Saint-Denis metro station with a more complex structure, a
hub that works as a metro station, bus station, parking area and a commercial area. The concept of
the project is connection between different areas of Saint-Denis so its shape starts wits an‘X’ which is
the public space and everything revolves around it. By doing so the hub becomes a new focus center
for the neighborhood and doesn’t cut connections like the old station did. Most of the functions are
underground so outside it presents itself as a huge topographical surface with different inclinations.

18. The main focus of the intervention was giving importance to an area of the city which today se-
ems to be forgotten due to its industrial past. The project consisted into undergrounding an old
urban highway, viale Fulvio Testi, built in the 60’s, and give the space back to the residents by
organizing an agricultural village. By doing so the entire area relates to this new centre which has
a moltitude of functions: agricultural school with student housing, expo areas, market, greenhou-
ses and vegetable gardens to give in management to the residents. The area opens intself to the
residental and commercial part and doesn’t cut interacttion between them as the old highway did.

20. This project started out as a challenge which was to bring architecture re-
ferences and shapes from Milan to Berlin. In this case the front becomes
the most important feature because its the first contact the population has
with architecture and on which Milanese architecture has to manifest.
The reference used in this case is the architect Riccardo Canella which in-
spired these aspects: the pediments which give movement to the ‘heavy’
milanese architecture in brick or clinker. From the functional point of view
there are commercial activities, offices, residences and student housing.
