PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
October 2008 – present at Florim USA , in the position of Controller for the Group’s American companies.
The American companies have annual sales of US $110 million and 300 employee, contributing to parent company’s annual sales of
315 million Euros,
My responsibilities and goals in this position include:
- Accurate, reliable and timely reporting of all business data from the American companies to the corporate offices in Italy
and operation management in America : monthly closing and issue of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Inventory analysis.
- Analysis, control and improvement of standard cost and new product estimate cost.
- Annual budget reports and projections.
- Ensure the accuracy of accounting procedure and SAP plant transaction.
- I’m the company internal reference with SAP consultant for the development of the information system and the
implementation of new procedures.
- Supervision of the cost accounting department : a subordinate person who is in charge for the creation and maintenance of
all master data items, issue daily and monthly reports for production, sales, inventories.
- Deal with Vendors for external processing and energy supply.
- Support and check the planning production department operations and participate to the production meeting.
- Assist auditors in their auditing process
October 1999 – September 2008 at a tile company. It employs 250 people, with annual sales of 57 million Euros.
As Controller, my responsibilities included:
- Issued all regular monthly financial reports.
- Coordinated annual budget, monthly projections, and quarterly comparisons between actuals and budgets.
- Prepared monthly Industrial Accounting processes and reports
- Created a software simulation to analyze the potential impact of different variables on the cash flow and break-even
point.
- Created various analysis tools in Access and Excel to measure factors that influence cost and quality. These assisted
managers in operations and other departments in their decision making.
- Coordinated consulting efforts and re-engineering projects. These involved creating performance indicators and process
analysis.
- Developed new accounting software (ERP – Formula).
- Responsible for all practices relating to the management of electricity and gas, gathering and evaluating bids,
negotiating with suppliers, annual tax declaration.
- Administrated accounting and reporting of recyclable and disposable materials.
September 1996 – October 1999 at Italtractor Itm, multinational mechanical company. This is a group of companies
specializing in track-driven earth moving equipment. It had 2000 employees and 320 million Euros in annual sales.
My responsibilities in Cost Accounting included:
- Defined and projected costs for new production and the related standard cost accounting.
- Involved in the budgeting process, supporting all departments in their data input.
- Issued monthly balance sheet and reports for the Italian affiliates.
- Analysis for make-buy decisions, economic cycle alternatives, and profitability of investments.
- Constant relations with the abroad plants of the company in order to quote new products and define new procedures for
the standard cost accounting.
May 1995 – September 1996 at Oregon S.r.l., Fiorano Modenese, Italy. The company constructs automatic warehouse transport
systems and conveyor components. It had 35-40 employees and six million Euros in annual sales. My responsibilities included:
- Created and implemented a real time tracking system to determine profitability on specific projects/installations
- Maintained inventory cost controls
- Managed invoicing, initial entries, payments, bank status, capital investment tracking, and balance sheet analysis
- Analyzed issues and corrected the problems with software systems
- Trained personnel on the correct use of the software and information procedures
- Chose the supplier for the new information system, defining and customizing the manufacturing modules
March 1993 – April 1995 at Smac Officine Meccaniche S.r.l., Fiorano Modenese, Italy. The company manufactures glazing
equipment for the ceramics industry. It had 30 employees and six million Euro in annual sales.
I reported to the Chief of the Technical Department. My duties included:
- Industrial accounting
- Defining of standards costs and comparisons to actual costs
- Coding of new items
- Entering orders
- Generating invoices
- Supporting consultants in re-engineering
- Translate technical documentation in english
