The Village ‘’ Satul Râmetea din Alba’’
1. The Village
‘’ Satul Râmetea
din Alba’’
Râmetea is a village in the commune with the same name in
Alba County, Transylvania, Romania. The village is famous for its
magnificent mountain scenery, its absolutely unique popular
port and its distinctive architecture. The Depression of Trașcău,
with a splendid panorama, is one of the most intriguing
depressions in the Apuseni Mountains. On the territory of the
commune there is a massif, Trașcău Peak with various karstic
forms: caves, natural bridges, old galleries of deserted ones. At 3
km from Râmetea, in the village of Colţeşti, there are the ruins
of a medieval castle, which was destroyed by the armies of
General Tiege. Among the particular elements that give some
specific features to the personality of this locality, we can
remember that in the village of Râmetea the sun rises twice the
same day.
