especially for high-needs schools (Pjanowski, Hewitt, & Brady, 2009)
• Rural schools receive significantly fewer applications for principals
(Pjanowski, Hewitt, & Brady, 2009)
• Challenges rural districts face recruiting and retaining principals are
expected to grow more acute in coming decades (Cruzeiro & Boon, 2009)
