may be eligible for Homestead Exemption. To
file you should go to the Tax Assessor’s Office
and take the following with you:
A copy of your recorded warranty
deed.
Social Security numbers for you and
your spouse (if applicable).
Purchase price of your home.
Mississippi Driver’s License & tag #
Your closing or settlement statement
You must file Mississippi Income Tax
You must be a Panola Co. registered
voter.
Applications for exemption can only be
accepted during the months of January,
February, or March of each year.
HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION
AUTOMOBILE TAGS
Automobile licenses must be purchased
annually and are due during the month in
which the vehicle was purchased. For new
residents, Mississippi state law requires that
automobiles be registered within 30 days of
establishing residency. Vehicles purchased
new or used from a dealer or individual must
be registered within 7 days. In all cases, license
plates must reflect the county of residence of
the registered owner.
