How to invite people to an event on Facebook!
Hi all! For our second installment of our social media how-to guides, we are showing you how to invite
people to an event on Facebook. Here’s a short little guide about how to share a post. If you still have questions or
something just is not working out for you, give us a call, email, or stop down at the office and we would be happy
to help you out with any social media questions!
Step 1: Log onto your personal Facebook account and go to the event page that you want to invite
people to. I will be showing you with our first First Thursday event page - Throwback Thurs-
day. To get to this event page, just type in “First Thursdays - Throwback Thursday!” into your
Facebook search bar in the upper-left corner of your screen.
2. Step 2: Locate the “Invite” button on the right side, underneath the big picture (see above).
Click on the downward arrow and choose “Choose friends.”
You can also share the event by clicking “Share Event” and following the directions from our
how-to guide.

3. Step 3: A window like the one shown below will come up in the middle of your screen. Notice that it
automatically shows you who Facebook suggests you should share the event with.

4. Step 4: You can choose to send invites to whoever you want. You can choose just one person, a group of
friends, all friends who live in Wausau, Wisconsin, anyone from a group you are in, or all of your
friends. I’m going to choose all of my friends because I don’t want to leave anyone out of First
Thursdays news!
To do this, first select “All Friends.”
Unfortunately, there isn’t just one button to press that will invite all of your friends at once. You
have to manually put a check mark next to everyone’s name. This moves them into the “selected”
area. It may take a long time, but it’s a great way of notifying everyone about an event for free!

5. Step 4: When you’re finally done clicking away at the check mark boxes, make sure everyone who you
want to invite is in the “Selected” area. Then just hit the blue “Send Invites” button in the lower-
right corner of the window and you’re good to go!
