Visitor Access
Control (A-VA)
The Visitor Access Control (A-VAC) system consists of a VoIP
(Voice over Internet Protocol) phone, fingerprint biometric station,
and a driver's license bar code card reader.
System description:
A touch screen phone allows the guard easy access to all contacts.
For security reasons, only stand numbers are displayed, no
residents name or contact number is displayed. Multiple contact
numbers can be programmed for each stand.
On receipt of a call from the guard house, residents will be asked to
enable opening the boom by depressing "1" on their phone, this
being an automated acknowledgement by the call recipient that they
authorise access and take liability for the visitor. Calls are recorded.
Call rates based on per second billing at a fixed rate of 75c per
minute. Example: A call of fifteen seconds is charged at 19c, with an average of 40% of normal cellular call rates.
A breakdown of charges per stand is made available monthly thus allowing the HOA to recover such costs. Such
records also serve as a “monitor” of excessive visitors such as those residents are illegally operating businesses from
within the estate.
The system is equipped with a driver's license scanner that will gather the visitor's details for storage. The information
is encrypted and only accessible by the HOA management.
Once the phone call has been made the Visitor will be required to present his or her index finger for registration or
authentication.
The fingerprint will remain active for use by the visitor to exit the estate where after it will be automatically
deactivated. An automatic deactivation period can be set.
From the Visitor's arrival to entering takes approximately 30 sec.
Pre-Announcement
Each resident receives a username and password whereby they can activate visitors that has been registered to their
stand number. The activation will be valid for predetermined amount of hours.

Service Level
Agreement (A-SLA)
Our Service Level Agreement (A-SLA) is in effect an all inclusive insurance policy which gives you total peace of
mind as it covers all on site repairs including labor, spare parts and travelling, all at a fixed monthly cost making
budgeting easy. Costs are calculated using the manufacturer’s average MTBC (Mean time between calls).

 Penalty Clause in the unlikely event of Amax not performing.

 Subject to a due diligence, previously installed systems such as boom gates, cameras, etc, can be included
in the SLA.
The only exclusions are damages arising from:
 Malicious damage.
 Acts of God.

Fingerprint Access
Control (A-FAC)
Why a biometric (Finger print) system?
 Link an individual personally as opposed to a card or password, the latter can be sold or passed to those
with criminal intent.
 Is taking a finger print legal? Yes providing it is used for access control only.
 As an additional and important security feature, those with criminal intent or a history of crime are reluctant
to record their finger prints, thus they are not likely to buy into or enter into a lease agreement in an estate
using such a system.
 Is a finger print station hygienic? No less hygienic than any other public facility such as elevator (lift)
pushbuttons, shopping baskets, escalator / stair case hand rails, and so on.
 Is fingerprint biometric accurate? Yes, research shows 99.64% accuracy.
 Does fingerprint access improve access control? Yes, no time is lost, typically looking for proximity cards in
a vehicle or individuals pocket and so on.
 The system can be used as an accurate time and attendance record. i.e. Verifying the time an employee /
contractor reported for and stopped work.
Advantages of the A-FAC system:
Timed Anti Pass back.
Prevents people from opening for another, one cannot enter twice for a pre configured time. Default is 20min
Auto expiry
If a person has not entered the Estate for a predetermined time the fingerprint is automatically deactivated.
This feature is preconfigured per group.
Live logging
Transactions can be displayed live as the system is used.
Reporting
The system is able to provide reports per group, person, stand no, access / exit time & date and ID number.

Behavioral logging.
System can be programmed to identify patterns, typically residents versus unknown sub letting and so on.
Camera synchronisation.
The camera and fingerprint system’s time are synchronized with a time server to ensure that the access /
exit reports co-inside with the camera image time.
Preset Expiry Dates:
During the registration process an expiry date can be defined, typically to set a date on which a tenants
lease agreement will expire, temporary employees and / or contractors expiry date, and so on.

Camera Systems
AMAX installs carrier class cameras systems tailored to provide the best coverage at a cost effective price.
We offer our customers two different systems varying in price, both systems has been thoroughly tested and has
received the AMAX stamp of approval.

Both platforms integrate with numerous makes of cameras. Benefit thereof is that the best camera can be
used for the application.
IP
The IP protocol allows for up-to 32 IP Cameras on a single NVR.
Wireless
Due to IP carrier class wireless, IP Systems can be integrated with the system, allowing you to view
cameras over great distances without installing cables or fiber.
Motion Pop-Up.
In the event of motion in a predetermined area the system can be set to give an alarm and view the camera
at full screen.
Messaging
The system is able to sms or e-mail on preprogrammed events.
Synchronised Time Server.
Accurate time keeping is essential when using footage in investigations and integrate with access control
systems
Storage
Due to a PC based system, it is possible to upgrade recording times up to 6 Months. (Default is 1 Month)
Video Content Analysis
The system has some handy features such as foot counter, motion in wrong direction, speed of an object
and more.

are a registered Internet Service Provider with an IECNS and IENS license.

Metering Services
(A-Met)
To complete our all in one solution to estates we have developed a metering
system that is able to measure Electricity, water and gas consumption. These
readings are then relayed to a main server that calculates the rates and invoices
to the residents. The system goes ever further, to clearly explain the system we
have broken it up into 3 sections:
1. Metering
Measurement is taken with the latest state of the art equipment that
ensures accuracy. With this equipment and accounting system behind
it, it is able to detect losses or leakages. Furthermore the system is
able to communicate with high consumption appliances such as
geysers to regulate temperature and power consumption.
2. Data Services
With a fiber backbone network in the Estate we are able to not only
gather the services readings but also able to provide:
 High speed internet
 VoIP (Telephone lines)
 DSTV
 Top TV
3. Accounting and Invoicing
All data is gathered and processed on the main server. The system does all the accounting and facilitating
of all services, meaning that all or single services can be disabled.
The system automatically generates a single invoice to the resident which is comprised of:
1. Levy
2. Electricity, Water and Gas consumption.
3. DSTV
4. Telephone calls
5. Visitor Announcements (calls from the gate to the resident)
6. SMS's to the resident
7. Other such as fines or penalties

Electric Fences
We install and maintain electric fences. We make use of the market leader of electric fences namely Stinger.
All Amax technicians are certified installers and are able to supply a C.O.C. as required Government regulation.
Amax uses equipment that is time tested and is well known in the industry. Our main suppliers are Stinger and
Nemtek. We only use stranded aluminum wire with UV protected bobbins and powder coated brackets.
Our control room software integrates with the stinger system that allows the operator to detect a breach or fault
immediately within meters, the software has the following additional features:
 Reporting
 Camera Popup
 Timed acknowledgement
 SMS's
An additional software package is available for control rooms that has multiple site to monitor. These sites can be
monitored over the internet. (adsl, wifi or 3G)
All Amax electric fences are maintained under SLA.

Time Capture
Overview
Time capture services are used to monitor a building site or any similar site over a long period of time for example to
stream and capture the entire development phase. During the capture period live steams are available to utilise on
the company web site or any device capable of displaying flash player video. During the capture period HD snapshots
are also taken on a pre-defined interval. These snapshots can then be compiled into a Video at any time. These
Videos can have various durations, sizes and frame rates depending on the use.
Functionality
The Time Capture Services consists of three functions:
1. Time Capture Service function
2. Time Capture Video function
3. Live Streaming Service
1. Time Capture Service Function
The Time Capture Service is a dedicated service running on a dedicated server and is responsible for taking
HD snapshots in pre-defined intervals. The Time Capture Service also provides up to date information to
AMAX regarding the status of each camera. This assists in ensuring very low down time.

The Time Capture Video function allows Amax to at any time compile a video using the captured images to
create a high speed simulation of the process captured over time.
These videos can be customized regarding the following parameters: Video duration, Video resolution (Size)
and display time of each picture i.e. frame rate. An exclusion period can also be specified. The exclusion
period allows a daily time period to be ignored when creating the video for example excluding night time
snapshots.
3. Live Streaming Service
Amax offers a live streaming service that will capture all camera streams to a dedicated server and convert it
to a RTMP stream format. The RTMP protocol is the most common streaming protocol and can be displayed
by any Adobe flash enabled players.
Amax provides two streams for each camera. The first stream will utilize the default TCP port of 1935. The
second stream will utilize TCP port 80. The second stream acts as a failover stream which will automatically
be used when stream 1935 fails for example due to strict firewall rules on the customer’s side.

Energy Management
Amax has developed a state of the art power monitoring system that can be customised to suit your requirements.
The system constantly monitor and graph power consumption. With the data available we are able to make the
necessary changes to power factors, processes, operating hours, etc. to ensure optimised power usage.
Futhermore the system is able to report on different usage breaks such as servicing, tool changing, station outages,
malfunctions, etc.
The following outlines the process AMAX follows for electricity optimisation:
1. Monitoring
 Install Monitoring equipment
 Setup SureTec software to monitor and report key indicator
2. Optimize Electricity Efficiency on a per station basis
 Power Factor analysis and corrective action
 Harmonic distortion analysis and corrective action
 Voltage and current balancing analysis and corrective action
 Maximum Demand analysis and corrective action
 Station efficiency analysis and corrective action regarding hydraulic design, electric motor usage,
software programming etc.
 Station energy usage comparison to similar stations within the group to identify possible
inefficiencies
3. Maintain Electricity Efficiency on a per station basis
 Periodic reporting to monitor the health of each station
 Parameter alarms for each station to indicate possible problems or failures
4. Additional functionality - Production monitoring
 Monitoring of production downtime per station
and corrective action
 Incorporating energy costs into BOM for each
product

  • 2. 152 ZambesiDr, Sinoville, Pretoria, Tel: 086 123 AMAX (2629) “WE ARE COMMITTED TO QUALITY SERVICE” Director: Freeg Stoltz Visitor Access Control (A-VA) The Visitor Access Control (A-VAC) system consists of a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone, fingerprint biometric station, and a driver's license bar code card reader. System description: A touch screen phone allows the guard easy access to all contacts. For security reasons, only stand numbers are displayed, no residents name or contact number is displayed. Multiple contact numbers can be programmed for each stand. On receipt of a call from the guard house, residents will be asked to enable opening the boom by depressing "1" on their phone, this being an automated acknowledgement by the call recipient that they authorise access and take liability for the visitor. Calls are recorded. Call rates based on per second billing at a fixed rate of 75c per minute. Example: A call of fifteen seconds is charged at 19c, with an average of 40% of normal cellular call rates. A breakdown of charges per stand is made available monthly thus allowing the HOA to recover such costs. Such records also serve as a “monitor” of excessive visitors such as those residents are illegally operating businesses from within the estate. The system is equipped with a driver's license scanner that will gather the visitor's details for storage. The information is encrypted and only accessible by the HOA management. Once the phone call has been made the Visitor will be required to present his or her index finger for registration or authentication. The fingerprint will remain active for use by the visitor to exit the estate where after it will be automatically deactivated. An automatic deactivation period can be set. From the Visitor's arrival to entering takes approximately 30 sec. Pre-Announcement Each resident receives a username and password whereby they can activate visitors that has been registered to their stand number. Costs are calculated using the manufacturer’s average MTBC (Mean time between calls). Yes providing it is used for access control only.  As an additional and important security feature, those with criminal intent or a history of crime are reluctant to record their finger prints, thus they are not likely to buy into or enter into a lease agreement in an estate using such a system.  Is a finger print station hygienic? No less hygienic than any other public facility such as elevator (lift) pushbuttons, shopping baskets, escalator / stair case hand rails, and so on.  Is fingerprint biometric accurate? Yes, research shows 99.64% accuracy.  Does fingerprint access improve access control? Yes, no time is lost, typically looking for proximity cards in a vehicle or individuals pocket and so on.  The system can be used as an accurate time and attendance record. i.e. Verifying the time an employee / contractor reported for and stopped work. Advantages of the A-FAC system: Timed Anti Pass back. Prevents people from opening for another, one cannot enter twice for a pre configured time. Default is 20min Auto expiry If a person has not entered the Estate for a predetermined time the fingerprint is automatically deactivated. This feature is preconfigured per group. Live logging Transactions can be displayed live as the system is used. Reporting The system is able to provide reports per group, person, stand no, access / exit time & date and ID number.

System can be programmed to identify patterns, typically residents versus unknown sub letting and so on. Camera synchronisation. The camera and fingerprint system’s time are synchronized with a time server to ensure that the access / exit reports co-inside with the camera image time. Preset Expiry Dates: During the registration process an expiry date can be defined, typically to set a date on which a tenants lease agreement will expire, temporary employees and / or contractors expiry date, and so on. Benefit thereof is that the best camera can be used for the application. IP The IP protocol allows for up-to 32 IP Cameras on a single NVR. Wireless Due to IP carrier class wireless, IP Systems can be integrated with the system, allowing you to view cameras over great distances without installing cables or fiber. Motion Pop-Up. In the event of motion in a predetermined area the system can be set to give an alarm and view the camera at full screen. Messaging The system is able to sms or e-mail on preprogrammed events. Synchronised Time Server. Accurate time keeping is essential when using footage in investigations and integrate with access control systems Storage Due to a PC based system, it is possible to upgrade recording times up to 6 Months. These readings are then relayed to a main server that calculates the rates and invoices to the residents. The system goes ever further, to clearly explain the system we have broken it up into 3 sections: 1. Metering Measurement is taken with the latest state of the art equipment that ensures accuracy. With this equipment and accounting system behind it, it is able to detect losses or leakages. Furthermore the system is able to communicate with high consumption appliances such as geysers to regulate temperature and power consumption. 2. We make use of the market leader of electric fences namely Stinger. All Amax technicians are certified installers and are able to supply a C.O.C. as required Government regulation. Amax uses equipment that is time tested and is well known in the industry. Our main suppliers are Stinger and Nemtek. We only use stranded aluminum wire with UV protected bobbins and powder coated brackets. During the capture period live steams are available to utilise on the company web site or any device capable of displaying flash player video. During the capture period HD snapshots are also taken on a pre-defined interval. These snapshots can then be compiled into a Video at any time. These Videos can have various durations, sizes and frame rates depending on the use. Functionality The Time Capture Services consists of three functions: 1. Time Capture Service function 2. Time Capture Video function 3. Live Streaming Service 1. Time Capture Service Function The Time Capture Service is a dedicated service running on a dedicated server and is responsible for taking HD snapshots in pre-defined intervals. These videos can be customized regarding the following parameters: Video duration, Video resolution (Size) and display time of each picture i.e. frame rate. An exclusion period can also be specified. The exclusion period allows a daily time period to be ignored when creating the video for example excluding night time snapshots. 3. Live Streaming Service Amax offers a live streaming service that will capture all camera streams to a dedicated server and convert it to a RTMP stream format. The RTMP protocol is the most common streaming protocol and can be displayed by any Adobe flash enabled players. Amax provides two streams for each camera. The first stream will utilize the default TCP port of 1935. The second stream will utilize TCP port 80. The second stream acts as a failover stream which will automatically be used when stream 1935 fails for example due to strict firewall rules on the customer’s side.

The system constantly monitor and graph power consumption. With the data available we are able to make the necessary changes to power factors, processes, operating hours, etc. to ensure optimised power usage.
