  3. 3. It’s pretty simple Apostrophes either indicate • POSSESSION Or that there are • MISSING LETTERS in a word But NEVER
  4. 4. An exception is when something belongs to it: It’s Its Possession  Fred’s boat or Anne’s web page  If there is already an S on the end of the word then: Fred Jones’ Boat 
  5. 5. Missing letters It’s – short for – it is  Rock ‘n’ Roll – short for – Rock and Roll  Rockin’ – short for – Rocking  Won’t – short for – will not 
  6. 6. Never for a plural More that one pizza: pizzas  More that one DVD: DVDs  You get the picture...
