It is with pleasure that I recommend Alexandra Sarhanis for admission to your institution.
As her supervisor at her internship with the Lake Champlain Land Trust for a year and a
half, I worked closely with Alexandra and respect her immensely as a diligent and mature
coworker.
As our long‐standing intern at the Lake Champlain Land Trust, for which most interns
serve only a semester or two, Alexandra stood out in her adherence to her commitments,
her desire to learn and grow in the many tasks that we presented her with, her ability to
work long hours unsupervised, and her unfailingly positive attitude. She was eager to
volunteer for new responsibilities and was always fully engaged when she was in the office.
Alexandra asked insightful questions and was always open to feedback, although her work
consistently exceeded expectations; it was polished, thorough, and well thought out.
Although I can’t speak to her academic skills from a classroom teacher perspective, I have
seen Alexandra apply these skills in a myriad of tasks and have always been impressed by
her abilities in writing, design, problem solving, and environmental studies. As an example,
I was impressed by how she taught herself InDesign and Photoshop and used these
programs to create stunning and informative signs for our Upper La Platte River Walk, now
a permanent installation at a local natural area. I am confident that her impressive work
ethic, high standards, and desire to learn will allow her to flourish in the Antioch
environment.
Alexandra is a courteous and responsible individual who would make an outstanding
leader because of her great respect for others, openness to new ideas, and self‐confidence.
A wonderful listener, she is the type of person you can connect and feel safe with. She is
honest, kind, and funny, and I would—without hesitation—hire her to work with me again.
I cannot recommend her more highly for your graduate program. If you have any questions
