4. Histotic note
Khmelnytsky has 600 years history. The first note is dated
back to February 10, 1431 and connected with confirmation of
right on Podilski estate being given to loyal Polish gentry by
king Vladyslav The second Yagailo. Ploskyriv (Ploskyrivtsi)
was erected on muddy floodplain where river
Ploska flew into Southern Bug river.
In 1796 after right-bank and left-bank union
of Ukraine consisting of Russian empire
Ploskyriv had got status of Podil province
city and official name of Proskuriv.
In January 16, 1954 Proskuriv
was given a new name Khmelnytsky.

Total complex area – 5019 m2 including: commercial
premises – 2156 m2, corridors – 1629,6 m2, engineering and
utility services rooms – 179,7 m2, parking – 1052 m2. Height
of commercial premises – 3,6 m, corridors – 2,5 m.Total
structural volume of complex – 19575 m³.
Complex of pedestrian subways provides system of corridor
communication bordered with commercial premises.
Pedestrian subways connect crossroads of Svoboda and Panas
Myrnyi streets and Peace Avenue. At the same time direct
combination is provided for underground trade and
communal complex, covered market and opposing sides of
indicated streets.
