CHARACTER REFERENCE FOR ALEXIS KACZMAREK
I have known Alexis Kaczmarek for ten years through her close friendship with
my daughter, developed through their high school years spent together at
Marist  Sister’s  College  Woolwich.  Alexis has visited and stayed at my house
frequently over these years, as well as participating in extended family
gatherings, through which I have come to know her very well.
I regard her as a young woman of extremely high intelligence, integrity, honesty
and persistence. I had the pleasure also of teaching her in the class room setting
when I provided a guest lecture to her Legal Studies class. As a student she
took on leadership roles with consistency and thoroughness. Through
numerous discussions with Alexis and my daughter and other friends, I have
watched  Alexis’s  passion  for  the  law  and  its  ethical  application  develop.
Alexis has shown great interest in my area of practice and research which
relates to the impact of sexual and domestic violence. We have had many
discussions on this topic through which she has demonstrated a understanding
of ethical and legal challenges in responding to these crimes.
Alexis’  commitment  to  law  is  evident  in  the  positions  she  has  secured  from  the
outset of her studies as a paralegal, where I have witnessed her successfully
juggle studies and paid employment. Alexis combines intellect, a strong sense
of social justice, hard work, a keen curiosity for learning, openness, rigor,
warmth and a balanced sense of humour. She is a thoughtful friend and guest
and I believe would be a strong team member and responsive learner.
Alexis continues to be warmly welcomed to my house and I have no hesitation
in recommending her to any position of responsibility or integrity.
