ODE TO MY SOCKS. by Pablo Neruda. The speaker receives a pair of homemade, woolen socks from his friend, Maru Mori. The socks are so gorgeous that they inspire a series of metaphors that compare them to: fish, sharks, birds, cannons, jewel cases—look, just believe us, they're beautiful. In fact, they're so beautiful that the speaker doesn't even want to put them on and ruin them!

2. Once upon a time in the evening, after the school I was
there in my room Playing my video game which was given by
uncle Michel. Mom came and said ”John complete your
english homework and then you can continue playing your
video game”. “Yes mom” I replied.
I opened my notebook and started reading the assignment
it was, write an essay on the Importance of gifts in (400-
450) words…….

3. Suddenly I remembered of one box where i have kept all
my gifts safe.The box was totally filled with different
gifts given by different people.
There was:
Pen set
Wrist watch
Pair of shoes
Wallet
And the main one which i can never forget was special pair
of socks...

4. You must be wondering that why is that pair of socks a
special gift for me. I will definitely tell you why. Because
that pair of socks were knitted by my aunt Mara Mori those
pair of socks were as soft as rabbits. I just slipped my feet
into them it seems they were knitted with threads of
twilight and goatskin.
The socks were long as if they
were two sharks and the colour of
the socks was blue and there were
two immense blackbirds on it.
My feet were honoured in this
way by wearing these heavenly socks…….

5. My feet were unacceptable like as if the firemen are
unworthy for the woven fire of those glowing socks.
I was thinking to keep them away safely as the schoolboys
keep fireflies.
I just wish i can keep them save in a golden cage and each day
give them birds seeds and pieces of pink melon.like explorers
in the jungle who hand over the very rare green deer to spit
and eat it with remorse….
Then i just remembered that I have to end up my essay,
I stretched out my feet and pulled on the magnificent socks.

6. Oh! Now i just have to end up the essay.There is no doubt
that gifts have got special place in our daily life and
people get pleased when they are gifted. It plays vital role
in all sorts of relationships and in all type of events of our
life. Whether a birthday, wedding, anniversary or
something else, it works as a bond in a relationship.
When gifts are exchanged, feelings are exchanged
between two persons and they build trust between them.
It speaks everything what a person can't say to his/her
beloved one directly. When the recipient receives it,
he/she receives love and affection of the giver.
