Operation Instruction
Scope of Application:
Applicable to the oxide ore, primary ore, sulphide ore, tailings etc all of ore type.
Especially for high arsenic and sulfur, iron, copper etc has good result.
Applicable process:
The traditional heap leaching, tank leaching, carbon leaching
Product form:
Grey lump, dissolved in water
PH Adjustment:
The product should be used in alkaline medium, Generally with calcium oxide (CaO), sodium
hydroxide (NaOH) ,ammonium hydroxide(NH4OH) etc to adjus the pH value between 11~12.
After spraying or leaching of the raw ore, backwater adjusting to alkalinity PH value is 11±1.
During the leaching process if the pH value decreased shall be supplement alkali timely.
Note: Additive need to add with alkali together to adjust and maintain PH value.
Dosage:
According to the ore properties, grade, through the test to determine the optimal dosage,
(generally 0.1~0.5kg per g (gold)/t (ore)). More ore, higher grade will reduce the average dosage.
Total apply amount = Total ore amount (ton) * Grade * Apply amount per g(gold)/t(ore)
Generally GDA and Additive ratio of 10:1(for example GDA100g+Additive 10g) If the ore
contains lots of As,S,Fe,Cu etc, it needs to add more additive.
Dosage Calculation:
① The dosage of GDA can refer to the dosage of sodium cyanide. (Generally 1-3 g/t oxide gore
concentration is maintained between 0.3-1.2 ‰. Adjust in accordance with different ore
grades and harmful elements);
② Calculation method of dosage:
Added dosage of GDA=(optimum concentration value-measured concentration value)×
water volume in dosing pool;
Assuming that the optimum concentration value of GDA is 1.2 ‰ (calculated as per water
volume), the backwater GDA concentration is 0.6 ‰ and barren solution pool has water of 500
square meters, then the added dosage of GDA is (1.2-0.6)×500=300 kilograms.
Reagent Concentration:
Since the difference composition has different PH values, the concentration will depend on ore
volume and the actual results of the ore samples. We get the potions concentration ratio based
on the ore sample test, then we can calculating the potions mass concentration (‰) (Use
following formula)
Potions mass concentration (‰)= Potions titration concentration ratio (‰) × 4
For example: if the potions concentration ratio was 0.07 ‰,
the potions mass concentration (‰)=0.07 ‰×4=0.28‰ (Namely, the agent and water ratio was
0.28:1000 )
In proportion to put gold separation reagent. Potions concentration ratio can be tested according
to the following methods
Detection Method of GDA Concentration (Titration):
1.The instruments:
one 100ml conical flask , 2 pcs of 10ml transfer pipettes, 1 pcs of dropper,
2.The reagent preparation:
Chromogenic agent: Put 0.1g Rhodanine to dissolve in 100ml acetone, stored in a brown bottle.
The test agent: weigh 1.7332g of silver nitrate to dissolve in 1L of distilled water, add 1 - 2 drops
of nitric acid to prevent the silver nitrate hydrolysis, stored in a brown bottle.
3.Test steps:
1.Take 10ml Gold agent solution by pipette and put it into conical flask, while shaking into 3-5
drops chromogenic agent, the solution was light yellow.
2.Use another pipette aspiration test agent drop into the conical flask, when shaking it. observe
the color change, that the solution turns pale red is the end point of titration, record the test agent
consumption
3. Use the 10 ml transfer pipette to absorb test agent and slowly drip the agent into the conical
flask (Titration while shaking conical flask, observation of color changes);
4. When the liquid color change from light yellow to pale red for the titration end point. Stop
titration, calculate the amount to test agent milliliter (ml);
5. The amount of consume test agent is the liquid to be test’s concentration in ten thousandth
(potions concentration ratio), such as consumption to test 0.05 ml the concentration is zero point
zero five over ten thousand (0.005 ‰) ; If consumption is 0.3 ml, the concentration is zero point
zero three over ten thousand (0.03 ‰); If consumption is 1.0 ml, then concentration is one over
ten thousand (0.1 ‰); And so on.
Lab operating instructions:
ⅠSoaking Test
1. Take comprehensive ore sample, Through the ball mill grinding to about
90%-200 mesh. Then put them into the vessel and stand-by.
2. Add water to soak, Flooded the ore about 4-8cm.
3. Adjust to PH value 11-12 with calcium oxide (CaO), sodium hydroxide (NaOH) ,ammonium
hydroxide(NH4OH) etc ( If needs to use additive, add it together with alkali at the same time)
4. Put into GDA(Note add 1/2 of total dosage on the first time, the balance 1/2 added in three
times equally), After stir several minutes, then soaking ( you can grinding up GDA to powder,
The dose of GDA according to the ore grade and composition)
5. At intervals of 2-4 hours to stir fully, After precipitate to measure the PH value, PH value
needs to keep in 11±1
6. After precipitate to take sample, The sample need to be clean water ore or slag (It needs to
use filtering machine to filter slag, then wash more than 5 times to use clean water )
7. Take different samples assay in whole process, For example respectively for 6hours,
12 hours, 18hours, 24 hours, 36hours, 42hours, 48hours of testing. Calculation the leaching
rate.
Leaching rate= (original ore grade-slag grade)/ original ore grade×100%
ⅡAgitation leaching test
1. Take 200-500g of comprehensive ore sample, Through the ball mill grinding to about
90%-200 mesh. Then put them into the agitator. According to (1:3-1:4 ratio of vessel) add
water.
2. Adjust to PH value 11-12 with calcium oxide (CaO), sodium hydroxide (NaOH) ,ammonium
hydroxide(NH4OH) etc ( If needs to use additive, add it together with alkali at the same time)
3. For As, S, Fe, Cu, Pb etc ore sample, After preprocessing ( it can use our additive to do
a pretreatment ) to stir, After several minutes, Put into GDA(Note add 1/2 of total dosage on
the first time, the balance 1/2 added in three times equally), After stir 6hours, 12 hours,
18hours, 24 hours, 36hours, 42 hours,48hours to assay slag, Calculation the leaching rate.
Leaching rate= (original ore grade-slag grade)/ original ore grade×100%
