14. Heineken Cup
Venue – Twickenham Stadium
For the second year running Orchard were hire by ERC to
manage the Live Draw of the Heineken Cup Pools Draw
In 2010 the draw took place in St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay
but in 2011 it moved to the home of English Rugby –
Twickenham Stadium
Orchard managed all the elements require for a live event of this
importance. The nations press would be present at the live
event but it also had to be webcast to all the teams and
interested parties across Europe
Orcvhard supplied all the Audio Visual Equipment, Sound, Set
design whilst local suppliers were managed by Orchard to
provide Camera crews, Lighting, Staging and, webcast facilities
For an event of this importance, getting it right first time is
essential. For that reason Orchard provided back-ups and fail
safes within the event plan so that if the worst happened then
the event would still carry on
The event ran successfully and on time
15. Paolo Nutini
when we promoted our first ever show with the then-22 year old
singer-songwriter at the beautiful Wales Millennium Centre in
Cardiff Bay. Playing in support of his first #1 album ‘Sunny Side
Up’, Paolo performed an electric set to a sell-out crowd within the
majestic grandeur of the Donald Gordon Theatre at the Wales
Millennium Centre.
Orchard brought Paolo back to Wales in June 2011, this time
heading west to Aberystwyth Arts Centre
Orchard secured a date at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena as part of
what was Paolo’s biggest UK Arena Tour to date for the 31st
October 2014, but illness struck and the show was rescheduled
for January 2015
On the 20th of June 2015, 12,000 packed in to Singleton Park in
Swansea for Paolo’s largest show in Wales so far. Tickets for the
show flew out of the door with Paolo at the top of his game; his
acclaimed third album Caustic Love having gone straight in at
Number 1, quickly reached platinum status and was one of the
biggest selling records in 2015 in the UK, cementing his place as
one of the country’s leading artists.
In what was his only UK show of 2016, the singer ran through his
many hits at the emotionally-charged concert, and donated all
profits to charity
16. Moving Minds 2 – Johnson and
Johnson
The Orchard events team have just returned from
project managing a week-long medical conference for
our international medical client Johnson and Johnson ,
Amongst the challenges facing our Orchard Events
Team was how to provide a display solution that could
deal with the high levels of natural light in the main
plenary room. By providing a bespoke 40ft wide 80,000
lumens projection screen, we were able to allow the
natural light to remain, with multi-pip (picture-in-picture)
facilities controlled by Watchout.
Onsite camera crews and photographers captured the
whole event for posterity.
The main conference comprised of 23 sessions with 8
keynote speakers, a CSR event and a formal dinner with
spectacular views over London.

St David Awards 2015
Orchard was engaged by Welsh Government to manage the prestigious
2015 St. David Awards ceremony, held in the Senedd building in Cardiff
Bay. The black tie event was hosted by Jason Mohammed and Angharad
Mair with celebrities such as Michael Sheen and Karl Jenkins attending.
Orchard was given a brief to produce and manage a visually spectacular
live event suitable for both live audience and filming for broadcast;
ensuring the smooth running of the event and compliance with all Welsh
Government requirements and standards.
Orchard produced all the winner videos and in order to ensure the guests
viewed the videos in the best possible quality we also provided its 9
panel Full HD video wall to compliment the modern and contemporary
feel and look of the Senedd building.
To this we also added LED floodlighting to the interior and exterior of the
building as well as moving light packages inside.
Orchard liaised directly with the venue and all partners to schedule and
manage staff onsite. The whole evening went without a hitch.

Project: NATO Summit Media
Reception
The brief was to design, produce and manage a high profile Media Reception event at
Tredegar House, to entertain a number of media figures from around the world during the
NATO Summit. The event was to showcase the best of Wales in its look and feel, which was
to follow the 'Wales Made' brand developed for the Summit, in the entertainment we were to
provide, and to showcase the finest Welsh food and drink.
Alongside a complete Event Management solution (including logistics, traffic and security
management), Orchard designed the look and feel of the event. We used a clearspan
marquee in front of a floodlit Tredegar House to really show off its attractive façade to best
effect.
We engaged the finest Welsh food and drink suppliers to showcase great Welsh fayre. As
Orchard works regularly with these suppliers on Welsh food events around the world, we
were able to bring in the Welsh Culinary Team, featuring some of Wales' leading chefs, to
create a rolling hot buffet of samples of the best flavours of Wales, promote leading Welsh
international food brands, and give journalists the chance to sample specially brewed beers
for the occasion, such as 'Obeerma' and 'Merkale'.
Orchard provided high quality furnishing and dressing, staging, lighting and all audio visual
equipment for the marquee. The 'Wales Made' brand was in evidence throughout, with large
contemporary images of Wales, and our own large scale 103" screens playing Welsh tourism
films on loop. We created a striking and impactful CROESO installation to welcome guests,
which proved extremely popular.
This NATO event was for a significant and influential audience, and created a hugely positive
impression of Wales to the world's media. It was very well received, and played a part in the
overall success of the Summit for Wales in global terms. It also demonstrated Orchard’s
ability to handle high profile events at relatively short notice, because of the sufficient in-
house resources and infrastructure Orchard has to be able to react to requirements as they
emerge, and a network of suppliers and freelance staff to call on as appropriate.
19. Interceltique, Lorient 2008 - 2015
Event Brief
The Welsh Government’s European and External Affairs Division led a
major promotion of Wales at one of the biggest festivals in France when
the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany celebrated the Year of
Wales. For 10 days more than 700,000 visitors to the festival were
treated to all things Welsh.
Solution
Orchard were totally responsible for delivery of the whole exhibition
space and the content of the space within.
The exhibition space was designed in house, in collaboration with the
IBW project team.Technical support and design involvement involved
creating a 15-metre frontage bar area, three individual catering and
servery areas and display booths for companies demonstrating “all things
Welsh”. An important aspect of the project was ensuring strict food
hygiene standards were enforced and that catering equipment, layout
and waste provisions were in compliance with the show organiser’s
regulations. Orchard installed a fully operational temporary kitchen
supplied by a locally sourced cool storage container unit allowing
freighted Welsh food product to reach Brittany and be stored immediately
to regulation standards.
20. Dwr Cymru
Event Brief
To create an inviting and engaging presence for Dwr Cymru (Welsh
Water), capable of travelling nationwide and interacting with their
customers. The lead time from conception to delivery was only 4
weeks and the roadshows ran nationwide for 10 weeks with limited
time for change overs.
The Solution
Orchard designed a bespoke inflatable structure with custom
branding and graphics. Premiering Orchard AV’s M3 Air Geo Dome -
the only 8M x 8M temporary dome available in the UK market today –
it proved to be quite the eye-catcher at public events with through-put
of visitors higher than expected.
Due to the nature of the structure Orchard undertook structure
calculations, including wind speed and stability to ensure the safety of
the overall concept was at a high level, exceeding LOLER and
PUWER legislation. All aspects from concept, design, delivery,
logistics and H&S were managed by Orchard.
21. Singleton Park
Orchard produced its first concerts at the City’s largest
urban park in June 2015, with thousands of music fans
cramming in first for standalone show by Scottish soul-
superstar Paolo Nutini, then the following day for the more
family orientated Summer in Singleton, which featured
performances by Britain’s biggest selling tenor Alfie Boe, X
Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson, Britain’s Got Talent
winners Collabro and West End star Sophie Evans.
The lure of such a beautiful site, which overlooks Swansea
Bay, was too much to resist and we returned to Singleton
Park on the 2nd of September 2016, this time with the
legendary Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds, with a
stellar support bill featuring Scottish indie-rockers Frightened
Rabbit, former Supergrass frontman and Mercury Prize
nominee Gaz Coombes, and Welsh upstarts Pretty Vicious.
For these shows Orchard Entertainment delivered the
following aspects: Artist Booking, Ticketing, Marketing, Web
& Social Media, PR, Production Planning & Management,
Artist Advance, Artist Liaison, Event Management, and
Budgeting.
22. ABS 2105
Event Brief
Orchard were commissioned to design build and manage a
series of exhibitions for a large medical client throughout the
UK. As a leader in its field the client wanted a stand that
portrayed all of its brand values , was open and inviting ,
informative and visually impressive
Solution
Orchard designed a modern open and inviting stand within
the 5m x 5m footprint (Open on 3 sides). The stand
incorporated a 110 inch video wall as the main feature with
internally lit feature walls displaying information and product
23. Greenman & Festival No 6 - 2015
Event Brief
The brief was to provide Visit Wales with a platform on
which to raise the profile of Wales as a short break
and holiday destination at both the Greenman and
No.6 Festivals.
Solution:
Key to the stand design was facilitating a practical and
attractive solution to display and distribute brochures
and leaflets, whilst providing an inviting and
welcoming environment. Cookery demonstrations
and children’s activities as well as story-telling
sessions, were also a key part to the daily activities on
offer at the stand.
Strong Wales imagery was projected to attract stand
traffic.
Orchard provided a teepee tent that showcased the
Wales tourism proposition in an effective, consistent,
and impactful manner.
24. Castle Concert Series
When you see your favourite artist in a special setting you get
two stars for the price of one!
That’s our mantra when producing concerts across a series of
Wales’ most spectacular Castles. It began on a glorious July
evening in 2014 when we took Paul Weller, a true British Rock
’n’ Roll icon, to the amazing setting of Cardiff’s 11th century
medieval castle, situated slap-bang in the centre of Europe’s
fastest growing Capital city.
The proposition was a no-brainer for the 8,500 eager souls who
packed in to Cardiff Castle to see ‘The Modfather’ charge
through a remarkable set of classic hits and new material on
24th of July 2014.
In 2015 we stepped under the portcullis of Pembroke Castle in
West Wales, with classical crossover stars Only Men Aloud in
tow for another special event, and returned there in July 2016
to present three nights of entertainment with Jools Holland and
his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Jamie Lawson and Abba
Revival.
August 2016 saw us bring the legendary nutty boys Madness in
to the South Wales valleys, for a show in the grounds of the
beautiful Cyfarthfa Castle at Merthyr Tydfil.
A month later Orchard lowered the drawbridge of Caerphilly
Castle to outdoor live concerts for the first time, as the medieval
fortification played host to Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene
and Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley across two nights.
