Akumen solutions was founded by a group of
IITians to create solutions for the unique
problems faced by the student community in
India.
Our operations are spread all across India in
NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Varanasi,
Guwahati, Madras, Patiala and Kharagpur. Our
business model is location agnostic, Individuals
or groups from any part of country or abroad
can join in.

Our aim is to empower students across India
so they can achieve higher goals without
being held up by the unique hurdles that
Indian students face.
As a startup we work to create effective
solutions that works for the people we care
about most-The Students!
4. WHY?
The most common hurdles that Indian students face
today include:
1. Shortage of money to fund college life
2. Poor infrastructure/ teaching facilities
3. High cost of books, accessories and other supplies.
4. Lack of good mentors and soft skills to shape them
in the early stages of their careers.
We aim to make these problems irrelevant for the
student community by introducing our unique solutions
into the market.
5. HOW?
Our first product attacks the toughest problem
faced by college students today, the lack of
sufficient funds to remain productive in their
academic life.
Most students work in part time jobs that may or
may not help in their academic life.
These jobs occupy them in non-academic
pursuits that diverts them from their academic
workload, thus deviating them from their
aspirations in life.
6. HOW?
What is students could be paid to study their
own course? Wouldn’t such a solution solve
two problems with one shot?
Can the market create a product that makes
the long hours put by hard working students
into their studies economically productive?

In short, can we reward students for studying?

Akumenites solve high quality, unsolved problems from
prestigiouos international textbooks dealing with courses
that they have already undertaken in their college.
We provide the books and the guidance they need to
come up with the best solutions possible for their
assigned problems.
And yes, we pay Akumenites based on the number of
questions they solve!

mentorship by senior pass outs from IITs and
making extra bucks in the process to sail

11. LEVEL 1: SME
Subject matter experts (SME) are the pillars of Akumen
Solutions. They provide the solutions to theoretical
problems and are responsible for updating themselves
with the latest knowledge in their chosen subject.
Requirements:
1. Must not hold a full time job.
2. Must be studying or have studied courses in
the chosen subject and show good theoretical
knowledge.
3. Must be willing to devote a few hours
everyday to their assignments and stick to
the given deadline.
12. LEVEL 2: MENTOR SME
The Mentor SME is someone who has experience in
the field with Akumen and has demonstrated
considerable leadership skills as a SME. They are
directly responsible for guiding the SME’s under them
and maintaining the overall quality of the solutions of
the group.
Requirements:
1. Must have worked as a SME for Akumen
before.
2. Must show good subject knowledge as well
as leadership skills.
3. Other requirements expected from SME.
13. LEVEL 3: DH
Each discipline has a Discipline Head (DH) that
oversees all the operations related to that discipline.
He/She is directly responsible for all SME’s and Chief
SME’s assigned to them.
Requirements:
1. Must be from a IIT/IIM background.
2. Must be a pass out only.
3. Must have taken relevant courses in that
discipline.
4. Must show leadership skills and the
initiative to take risks for the whole group.
14. PAYMENT STRUCTURE:
The base price for every question solved and
approved by the Quality Head is fixed depending on
subject-difficulty. This price cannot be lowered under
any circumstance but can be revised upwards.
Chief SME have the right to introduce performance
bonus as well as penalty charges for each SME.
However, the base price cannot be breached.
Money will be paid at the 15th of every month. If any
question is rejected or returned for review, penalty
charges may apply.
