What is social media? The best way to define social media is to break it down. Media is an in-
strument on communication, like a newspaper or a radio, so social me-
dia would be a social instrument of communication. It is media for so-
cial interaction, as a superset beyond social communication.
What kind of elements it includes?
Social media includes different elements. For example, online social net-
working communities have undergone an explosion in the recent years.
There are numerous social networks that users take part in. When taking
part in these social networks, users reveal a large amount of personal in-
formation about themselves.
In order for social networks to exist and survive the users need to share
some information about them, otherwise there would not be any con-
tent or anything to explore in that social network. Take for instance
Facebook. Facebook could not have reached its popularity without the
users posting a profile picture or other basic personal information such
as a name and country.
The online social networks try to make their content as public as possi-
ble. One reason for this is that, when searching for someone or some-
thing on Google or other search engines, it would show up in the search
results and draw more users to the social networks site. This is in a way
a marketing strategy. In other words online social networks try to make
the content as accessible to the whole internet as possible
Advantages and disadvantages of social media
In now a day’s social media is very popular. People around the word use
social media more and more. People use internet at school, at work and
on the free time, so social media can reach people very well, that is the
reason why social media marketing is so effective. There is advantages
for both side the marketer/seller and for the reader/buyer. Marketer
have a great chance to advertise his thing and the reader is happy to see
advertise witch reach him, of course if he is interested of that.

tising. Most of the disadvantages are directed to reader, because he gets
annoyed of unnecessary marketing and advertising.

One of the most important think of Social media marketing is about
publishing in real time. This means that you should address issues and
problems in real time. The days of publishing in advance are quickly dis-
appearing. People nowadays want to get information and answers now.
The main principle in social media is to reach a people. The key thing is
information sharing, speed, easiness and people.
