This publication has been prepared for the exclusive use of Forever’s Distributors. It must not be
used in part or as a whole, or duplicated in any form, for advertising the products to customers.
Distributors must be aware that products should only be used in ways recommended by the company. If a Distributor recommends a product for
use, not sanctioned by the company, and something goes wrong, resulting in the customer seeking redress through litigation, the company will
not indemnify that Distributor, that is they would be personally liable. Distributors are therefore advised against this practice.
However, products are sometimes used in “unofficial” ways with beneficial results. However, in such cases it is advisable to make the customer
sign a disclaimer that they understand that they are doing so at their own risk, having had the pros and cons fully explained to them.

What is Aloe Vera?
Aloe vera flourishes in warm, dry climates, and many people mistake it for a cactus, but, in fact it is
a member of the lily family. It stays moist when other plants would wilt and die by closing its pores
to prevent the loss of moisture. There are over 200 varieties of aloe, but it is the Aloe Barbadensis
Miller (aloe vera) plant which has been of most use to mankind due to its beneficial properties.
Ancient records show that the benefits of aloe vera have been known for millennia. Its therapeutic
qualities have been used for more than 5000 years.
George Ebers first discovered its
antiquity in 1862 in an Egyptian papyrus
dated 1500 BC. Greek and Roman physicians
used it to great effect as a medicinal herb.
Researchers have also found that both the
ancient Chinese and Indian cultures used aloe
vera. Egyptian queens used it in their quest for
physical beauty.
Aloe plants are referred to in the Bible, and legend
suggests that Alexander the Great conquered the
island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean to make a supply
of aloe plants available for his wounded soldiers.
However, the advent of documented medical science in
the western world, and the power shift towards more
temperate climates led to a decline in the use and
availability of aloe vera.

Nowadays, although medicines and drugs can be very effective in treating
ailments, long-term use often involves side effects for patients.
Consequently, more consumers and scientists are turning back to look
at more traditional, natural therapies which have been long
neglected. As a result, aloe vera is once again attracting
attention since it can provide many benefits to our
health and lifestyle. Hardly a week goes by without the benefits
of aloe vera being highlighted in the ‘health’ pages of major
national newspapers.
However, the use of aloe vera in climates
where it does not grow is only made possible by a
process called stabilisation. For example, if you
slice an apple and leave it open to the air,
the fruit quickly discolours - it is the
same with aloe. In the wild, the
inner leaf gel is protected by the
fleshy outer rind that prevents moisture
loss and protects it from the atmosphere.
Once the leaf is cut, the process of
oxidation begins which, if left, would deplete
the precious gel of many of its beneficial
properties. Stabilisation is a method of
preserving the gel, in a state as close as possible
to its original form, without losing the original potency and effectiveness of the fresh leaf. Without
stabilisation, the product would degrade even under refrigeration.

products. Founded in 1978, the Company is dedicated to supplying products that help people. Rather
than adding a few drops of aloe vera to our products in order to get the public to buy them, we start
with fresh, potent aloe vera and then add just enough of the other ingredients, as is needed, to create
a whole range of personal care products (such as skincare lotions, shampoo and toothgel, to name but
a few). In other words, the number one ingredient in most of our products is 100% stabilised aloe vera
gel.
We own our own extensive aloe vera plantations in the Rio Grande Valley, southern Texas, as well as
in the Dominican Republic and other parts of the Caribbean. Every step of the growing process is
tended by expert and caring personnel, from the nursery where the ‘pups’ are nurtured, through to the
meticulously cultivated fields of mature aloe vera plants, and on to the carefully-timed hand-
harvesting. Only mature aloe vera plants are harvested, when they reach their full potency after four
years of growth. No chemical fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides are used on or near the aloe plants.
A sister company, Aloe Vera of America stabilises the gel and formulates the products, so that they are
made on a timely basis. We do not order a big batch of aloe once or twice a year and then let it sit
around getting old. You can be assured of getting fresh product, made only a matter of weeks before
arriving at our area centres. This ‘vertical integration’ is a key benefit of our products.

Who are we?

In 1978, Forever led the way for the world to rediscover
the great benefits of aloe vera. As hundreds of
thousands discovered Forever, they excitedly shared
what they had found with millions of others and a new
industry was born. After the initial excitement, it
became evident that some unscrupulous producers
would adulterate their aloe with useless fillers like
maltodextrin to cut costs and increase profits.
Furthermore, a host of processing methods began to
appear - including freeze-drying and spray-drying. Thus
it became even more difficult to compare products and
ensure purity. To maintain integrity, and help
consumers make wise choices, the industry would have
to set standards and maintain them.
Other manufacturers of aloe products, who rely on other
growers for their aloe, constantly have to test their raw
materials to ensure no adulteration of or degradation to
the raw aloe has taken place, prior to making their
finished goods. Many items in the Forever product
range carry the International Aloe Science Council Seal
of Approval, certifying the quality of the aloe used.
Forever is also a key member of the DSA (Direct Selling
Association), which represents leading businesses in
the UK’s £2.3 billion per annum direct selling industry.
All DSA members operate under a consumer code that
is approved by the Office of Fair Trading.
The Company has also been awarded the highest
Investors in People accolade, IIP Champion. This award
has only been achieved by around 150 companies in
the UK. Forever now has over 9 million Distributors in
over 150 countries. Worldwide sales in 2012 were in
excess of $2.8 billion.

The International Aloe Science Council Seal of Approval
- a confirmation of excellence.
Founded in 1981, the International Aloe Science Council was
formed to protect the aloe vera industry against unfair
competition and unnecessary regulations. The Council was set
up as an independent regulatory body financed from the
membership fees of aloe producers who joined the Council.
In 1982, 25 member companies were part of the Council. A
code of ethics was agreed, and an inspection and testing programme was devised. To maintain
objectivity in testing, an independent laboratory was chosen to inspect and test aloe vera products
for purity and strength. Companies whose products meet the high standards are certified and
allowed to display the International Aloe Science Seal of Approval. This critical testing
programme began in 1985. Forever and Aloe Vera of America knew that the quality of their
products was second to none so they requested testing on their raw Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Berry
Nectar.
In early 1986, it was announced that Forever’s Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Berry Nectar would be
the first to meet (and exceed) the International Aloe Science Council’s high standards and
authorisation was granted to display the Seal of Approval on the products. Our goal has always
been to be first in the aloe vera industry and to lead the world with highest-quality products.
Despite the claims of newer aloe companies that they were the first in Europe to display the
seal, the undisputed fact remains that Forever received the seal in 1986 and has been selling
its products in Europe since 1988.

What do our symbols mean?
You will see various symbols on our products and in our literature. Please see below for more details:
This symbol is a Kosher rating given to products that meet very rigid standards of purity and
quality for the Jewish community. In many circles, products with a Kosher rating are looked upon
as being of a higher quality. There are many religious groups that use the ‘K’ as a guide to safe
and quality products.
The KL Kosher symbol, the L stands for ‘Lemehadrin’, and is for those following stricter
guidelines.
The D in the Kosher symbol shows that it is suitable for Kosher Dairy.
The Islamic Society of California tested a number of our products and certified that they met all
the requirements for product quality and acceptability to the Society. These standards are also
very high and reflect Forever’s attention to cleanliness and purity at all stages of manufacture
and packaging.
The Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) have qualified a number of our
products as ‘Halal’ - in order to be certified within their guidelines, the products must be proven
not to contain any alcohol or questionable ingredients of animal origin.
A majority of our products do not contain animal by-products, so we have labelled them.
Products with the following symbol contain honey-bee produced products.
Forever is also proud to assert that neither its products or their ingredients are tested on animals.
Many of our products are gluten free, so products with this symbol show that the ingredients
used to manufacture them are totally gluten free.

Why should I buy Forever aloe when I can buy other brands that cost less?
Together with our affiliates, we are the world’s largest grower and distributor of aloe vera. We own
plantations in the southern US and the Caribbean - both prime growing climates. We know precisely
how and where our aloe was grown. For example, we can assure you that no pesticides or herbicides
are used in our aloe vera fields.
We control the whole process, from choosing which leaves are ripe for harvest, right through to the
storage temperature after bottling. We are not dependent on any other supplier for ingredients or
manufacturing processes.
Our gel is extracted from freshly-harvested mature leaves and stabilised within hours to protect its
essential nutritional content. The stabilisation process is patented by Forever’s Chairman of the
Board and CEO Rex Maughan.
No artificial flavouring or colouring is added to our gel. As there are many harvests during the
course of the year the colour and taste may vary.
It has been known for some companies to add bleaching agents to their aloe vera products, to keep
the colour consistent throughout the year. We firmly believe that the colour is both natural and
healthy.
Although a large proportion of aloe vera gel is naturally composed of water, anybody seeing the raw
gel will know that it is not a thin clear liquid. Our aloe vera gel is not homogenised or filtered. Our
drinks have a rich pulp which settles and contains much of the goodness of aloe vera that is
necessary in our daily diets.

We advise you to shake the drinks well to receive the full benefit from the pulp. There are some
companies who offer aloe vera with the pulp strained, giving it the appearance of bottled water. In
recent times, whole-leaf aloe vera has attracted much attention and is presented by its
manufacturers as providing extra benefits. These manufacturers often avoid mentioning that in order
to remove the strong laxative elements found in the outer leaf, they must pass the whole liquid
through charcoal filters, which inevitably upsets the natural balance of nutrients found in the gel.
Forever does not risk the integrity of the product by subjecting the gel to this filtering process. Since
the traditional, well-proven benefits of aloe vera are found in the gel, not the rind, Forever discards
the useless rinds, using them as natural fertilisers in its aloe fields.
Our aloe vera is not boiled. Boiling or pasteurisation is cheaper and faster, but these destroy the
active ingredients. Forever only uses sub-pasteurisation temperatures (known as ‘cool processing’)
to ensure enzyme activity is preserved. Cool processing locks in the nutrients immediately after
harvesting and enables the product to retain its full potency for longer.
Our aloe vera is not reconstituted from freeze-dried gel. This is how some companies can offer
‘double strength’ products. Our products contain 100% stabilised aloe vera gel, from plant to you.
Our products make the difference between feeling good and feeling great!
100% stabilised aloe vera is the primary ingredient
on the labels of our drinks, gelly and lotions.
Testing by an independent laboratory has indicated
that our Aloe Vera Gel is ‘essentially identical’ to the
raw gel. In other words, drinking our Aloe Vera Gel is
like breaking open a leaf and scooping out the gel.
There is a complete 60 day satisfaction guarantee on
all our products, which is not offered on most store
bought aloe vera products.

whilst serving in the Far East and India, and has published three books
on the subject of aloe vera.

Forever Aloe Bits n’ Peaches; and Forever Freedom. Although taken as a drink, aloe vera gel is
better described as a liquid dietary food. It contains over 75 different natural nutrients, providing a
rich supplement to healthy nutrition. No one quite knows why aloe is as powerful as it is in
addressing a number of conditions, but it may be the balance of nutrients as much as the nutrients
themselves. Aloe works with our immune system, replenishing the nutrients as required. Drinking

Aloe Vera Gel
Description and Purpose
Imagine slicing open an aloe leaf and consuming the gel straight from the plant. Well, you can come
as close as possible to doing just that by drinking our Aloe Vera Gel. Our patented, stabilised aloe vera
gel is ‘essentially identical’ to the fresh gel of the inner leaf, and it was the first to receive certification
by the International Aloe Science Council. Just pour some into a glass and you’ll see the rich cocktail
of pulp and liquid, that shows that this is an authentic product.
Aloe Vera Gel contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals, including the rare vitamin B12 - one of
only two vegetable sources available. This makes Aloe Vera Gel a vital supplement for vegetarians and

Ingredients in Detail of Forever’s Aloe Vera Gel
In order to preserve the nutritional potency of raw aloe vera gel, it must be stabilised. This process
inevitably involves the addition of small quantities of other ingredients. In response to many questions
received about these, here’s some further information:
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) Essential for the formation of intercellular collagen as well as the
maintenance of tooth structures, matrix of bones and capillary walls. It can soothe wounds and facilitates
the absorption of iron as well as being widely used to maintain good health. Vitamin C is found in all living
plant and animal cells.
Citric acid Produced from sugar solutions and citrus fruits such as lemons, limes and oranges. It is
widely used in the food industry and can be used as a pH adjuster and antioxidant. It can also retard
metallic reactions. It is involved in the Krebs energy cycle which occurs in all cells of the body and has
been used to dissolve urinary bladder calculi and it acts as a mild astringent.
Potassium sorbate The potassium salt of sorbic acid (found naturally in fresh berries of the mountain
ash tree) is a natural buffering and flavouring agent which helps protect the freshness of the aloe.
Sorbitol This is an excellent conditioning agent which aids in the absorption of vitamins and minerals.
It occurs naturally in several fruits and has slight sweetening properties, which can help improve taste.
Sorbitol is often used as a sweetener in diabetic products. There are two forms of sorbitol used - sorbitol
crystals which are in solid form and contain no water, and aqueous sorbitol which is in liquid form and
is derived from specially-processed maize. It is
acceptable for coeliacs (gluten-sensitive).
Tocopherol (vitamin E) An essential vitamin that is
well known for its health-related properties. It is a
natural antioxidant, derived from wheat germ oil, rice
kernels and other vegetable oils.

Aloe Berry Nectar
Aloe Berry Nectar contains all of the vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes found in our Aloe

Forever Pomesteen Power
There is no disputing the fact that antioxidants are vital to our health and wellbeing. There is, however,
much discussion today among nutritionists as to which fruit is the most powerful antioxidant, or which
contains the most xanthones or has the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value
rating. Forever Pomesteen Power has them all with a proprietary blend of fruit juices and extracts,

Echinacea has a rich tradition in the culture of the North American plains Indians, who used it more than
any other plant to help maintain their health during the winter. They also applied root poultices, used
