I. Executive Summary
In 2013, the Spring Street Community Development Center implemented
Table of Hope a community kitchen and a 501©(3) organization offering
meals at no cost Monday through Friday 6pm - 7:30pm
II. Organization Overview
The Spring Street Community Development Center (SSCDC) is a family-
centered organization dedicated to identifying and addressing the needs of
families in Morris County in order to reverse negative trends, improve quality of
life, and strengthen the community.
The goals of the SSCDC are to:
 Bring Together organizations to target neighborhoods and enrich
families
 Foster sustainability through family involvement, leadership, and
indemnification of resources
 Change the cultural expectations among families
 Develop assets among families from targeted area
 Reduce community factors that lead to child abuse
Our duty is to be a family-strengthening program that provides families a greater
chance of a sustainable form of living. We believe that this mission and the
accomplishment of our goals begin with assisting families and individuals with a
well-balanced and nutritional meal. Addressing one without addressing the other
provides a temporary fix that can be easily reversed thus not having a substantial
impact on the family or the community as a whole.
MISSION: Table of Hope is a Community Kitchen, offering meals at no cost

IV. Need Statement:
There are hungry people in Morristown, New Jersey, and greater in
the Morris County area who need adequate, nutritious meal. The need is
evident as Table of Hope, a community kitchen and a 501©(3)
organization, served 14,383 meals (1,613 of them children) in 11 months.
Without Table of Hope many would not eat at all. Operational funds
are always difficult and fundraising in an ongoing part of the kitchen’s
activities, but money is even more difficult currently due to the downturn of
the economy. Some of the most needy are being hit the hardest. Without
nutrition, the impoverished will not be able to amend the financial situation
nor will their health improve.
Spring Street Community Development Center is seeking $12,000 in
funding for Table of Hope to establish an operational account for 5 years,
which would allow the kitchen: to balance its budget, provide ongoing
access to food and supplies, and continue providing meals for members of
the community and the surrounding communities it serves.
V. Plan of Operation
A. IDENTIFICATION OF NEED
Table of Hope staff will continue to work directly with families and those in
need who meet the following criteria:
 Homelessness
 Individuals

VII. Evaluation Plan
The Spring Street CDC will collect confidential process outcome data for
measurement of:
 The number of families served
 Services provided
 Referrals made
 Food received (in-kind donations)
 Consumer satisfaction
SSCDC will collect records of population served (gender, race,
occupation, and age). SSCDC will also evaluate short-term impact
measures such as changes in employment, education, and housing as a
result of the services provided. The results of this data will assist the
center in determining future needs and evaluating program effectiveness.
An initial survey of all families and attendees will include a checklist of
development assets. Center staff will evaluate the progress of each
individual in acquiring additional development assets.
VIII. Our Commitment
Table of Hope is a program of the Spring Street Community Development Center
(SSCDC), which leases a building at 65 Spring Street in Morristown, NJ. The
building is the previous headquarters of New Beginnings, a former community
services center operated by the town of Morristown.
In October 2011, the Spring Street Community Development Center entered into
a two-year lease (with a two-year renewal option) with the Town of Morristown in
order to provide accommodations for our non-profit programming. We completed
Table of Hope Proposal 9
the process of rehabilitating 3,500 square feet of offices and meeting rooms in
the building. The second phase of rehabilitation will involve converting and
additional 25oo square feet into recreation and multi-purpose use.
We are established in Morris County, our board is comprised of Morris County
residents, and we collaborate with several organizations in the community. Our
commitment to Table of Hope and to our community is unwavering.

X. Our Partnerships
Table of Hope and SSCDC have made strong connections and partnerships
within the community. These partnerships play a large role in the success of our
program and further demonstrate our desire to collaborate with organizations for
the betterment of the community at large
Dear Friend,
We write to you on behalf of our non-profit organization “Table of Hope”. We at
Table of Hope are responsible for being a place “Where Hope Starts, and the
Community Gathers to Share”. We do this by sharing a meal and a smile. We
have a Monday thru Friday evening meal available to the Morris County area at
no cost; we currently serve 70-80 homeless, individuals, single family homes,
elderly and just recently started delivering dinners to the sick and shut-in at local
senior centers. We also make available to our guests a clothing closet and make
available other resource information for specific needs.
Our intention behind writing this letter is to ask you to sponsor an evening of
dinner. This can be done with donating $1500.00, and for a holiday $2500.00.
This contribution will help us to continue to share a dinner and a smile, as well as
grow our program. Contributions can be mailed or accepted online at:
https://BethelAMEMorristown.securegive.com
You can also have a group volunteer experience and this can be arranged by
contacting our program administrator or kitchen manager, the details are
included on an additional page.
Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Best Regards,
