• I studied Computing & Psychology at University
• After leaving Uni I was approached to work in recruitment
• Spent 10yrs hiring tech staff
• Started ABrecruit in 2013
• Recruit for developers (mainly .Net, sometimes Front End /
Mobile)
• Started organising events in around April 2013
• Run 6 meetup groups (Italian / Portuguese / French / Spanish /
Polish / South African)

• Met with Lorenzo (Italian group co-organiser) to discuss

• Progressed to presentation based ones
• Now have 2 x presentations per meetup, with some fantastic knowledge /
content being shared
• All presentations are in English to help people to grow in confidence

• Recruiters / companies take a cursory glance to assess (I’ve probably glanced at over 100,000 CVs)
• Make sure you put on:
• Name
• Phone number
• Email
• Address / closest train station (underground and national rail)
• Skills (matrix ideally) highlighting your strengths
• Links to your profile on Linkedin/ Stack Overflow / Github
• Detail the personal projects you are working on
• Personal statement (technologies / roles interested in)

• Company / dates / job title
• Technologies worked with on a day to day basis
• Type of environment
• Paragraph (or bullet points) about what you did in the job
• Your role in the projects
• Achievements

• Uk degrees are classified as:
• 1st class (70%+)
• 2:1 (60%-70%)
• 2:2 (50%-60%)
