
Drug addiction information clearly states drug
addiction is an extreme desire to obtain, and use,
increasing amounts of one or more substances.
Drug addiction is a generic term for the addiction
of any drug, including alcohol and cigarettes.
Drug dependence or addiction indicates a
psychological or physical dependence on the
drug to function. Drug dependence requires the
symptoms of withdrawal if the drug is
discontinued, whereas drug addiction does not.
Drug addiction refers to the
compulsive and repeated use of
increasing amounts of drugs with
the appearance of withdrawal
symptoms when drug use ceases.
While the specific causes of drug
addiction are not known, genetic,
psychological and environmental
factors are thought to play a
significant role. Rather than a single
cause of drug addiction, it is likely
multiple factors lead to drug
addiction in any given person.
Psychological causes of drug addiction include:
A mental illness such as depression
Inability toconnectwith others, lack of friends
Poorperformance at work orschool
Poorstress coping skills
Abnormal vital signs like respiration, heart
rate and blood pressure
 Chest or lung pain
 Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain
Skin can be cool and sweating or hot and
dry
Diseases such as hepatitis B or C, or HIV
from needle-sharing
 More frequent illnesses
 Frequent hangovers, blackouts

 Teens seek sensation to smoking because of
their emotional nature.
 Nicotine acts on the same part of the brain that
controls emotions.
 Teenagers often start smoking due to heavy
influence by their colleagues.
 Teens are often misguided by their friends
regarding smoking.

• Excessive use of Whatsapp,Hike ,Twitter,
Snapchat,Tinder,Linkden and various such sites
have made the ease of communication and
technology, a CURSE.

many suicides in teenagers.
