He named it after his friend & general Champa , who later was known as “Champaraj”. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Champaner is today famous for “ The Champaner-Pavagadh Archeological Park ”, which is listed by UNESCO as “World Heritage Site” . </li></ul><ul><li>Sultan Begada also built a magnificent “ Jama Masjid” in Champaner, which ranks as the finest architectural edifices in Gujarat. Its an imposing structure on a high Plinth, with a central dome, two minarets 30 meter high, 172 pillars, seven Mihrabs, and carved entrance gates with fine stone jalis. </li></ul>
