The CIMA certification in business accounting is CIMA’s own entry route to the
professional qualification.
Your degree or accounting qualification may also exempt you from some
operational and management level papers.

Your role will be that of manager, your audience will be CFO and senior business
managers, the question types will be long and short essays, supported by
calculations and analysis and the case study focus will be on;
– Impact on the financial statements and the performance of the organization.
– Product & pricing decisions, and/or the performance evaluation of division(s)
component parts.
– Consideration of key stakeholders, and implementation via projects.
Level 4: Strategic level

6. The three papers at this level are:
FI 140 – E3 – Strategic Management
FI 141 – P3 – Risk Management
FI 142 – F3 – Financial Strategy
All three strategic level subjects must be studied at the same time and students
must sit all three exams (E3, P3 and F3) together at the first sitting. Following this,
any re-sits can be taken in any combination (for example one at a time).
These papers must be successfully completed before students attempt the test of
professional competence in management accounting.

Master’s Gateway route for MBA holders.
I am an MBA holder in Accounting / Finance. What are my exemptions?
If you hold a Master’s or MBA in Accounting, you can take the accelerated Master’s
Gateway route to the CIMA Professional Qualification. You’ll just need to pass the
CIMA Gateway exam, which is a three-hour computer-based case study exam,
available four times a year.
Once you’ve passed the CIMA Gateway exam, you’ll be exempt from 11 exams and
can progress straight to the strategic level of the CIMA Professional Qualification,
the final step towards CGMA status.
CIMA Retake Policy and Pass Guarantee
Retake Guarantee:
When you take the test in the testing window following your course and if you do
not pass, you can retake the course tuition free – new materials might be
required at your expense – if you meet the criteria below. Criteria for Retaking the
Course Tuition Free:
Attendance: You MUST attend 80% of all your CIMA training classes.
Pre Class Test: You must complete all pre class tests and obtain minimum 70%
mark in all tests.
Testing: You must take the 2 Mock during the Revision Course and achieve a
minimum score of 70% on the Test 4. Final Model Exam Test Score: Must get an
70% or higher on the final model exam.
>CIMA Exam Pattern (For all Three Level):
There is a three hour written exam paper, plus 20 minutes of pre-exam reading

Section A 20 marks: a variety of compulsory objective test questions, each worth
between two and four marks. Mini scenarios may be given, to which a group of
questions relate.
Section B 30 marks: six compulsory short answer questions, each worth five marks.
A short scenario may be given, to which some or all questions relate.
Section C 50 marks: one or two compulsory questions. Short scenarios may be
given, to which questions relate.
Pass marks
The pass mark for each operational and management level subject is 50%.
Permanent credit is awarded for any paper where candidates score 50% or more.
