Title and position of the supervisor in charge
Mr. Samsul bari Bin M Said has been appointed as the supervisor for the
three months internship program. He is a petrophysicist under Baram Delta
Operation (BPE) and also the team leader for Baram Cluster operation.
Besides Mr. Samsul, I has been appointed under two engineers from the same cluster
to assist the program scheduled for internship period. I had worked closely with Mr.
Hafizi (Production Technologist) and Mr. Helmi (Reservoir Engineer) in order to
done the assignments and suggestions to make changes in real project if necessary.
Summary of Duties
The internship period was started since 1st
of December 2014 until 27th
of
February 2015 which were approximately thirteen weeks including public holidays.
The working time for Intern that had been fixed starts from 8.00am until 5.00pm
everyday not include overtime. It has been scheduled over thirteen weeks for various
topics and tasks as the assignments to be done. Additionally there were few other
responsibilities besides assignments such as site visits, join daily and important
meetings, event management and attend the staff engagement sessions. In this
internship period I never took any leave or absent for work. The scheduled
workloads from the first week until last week are as stated below:
1. Research & Study Basics
2. Learning Production technologist job scope
3. Sand face completion
4. Tubing design and well completion
5. Artificial lift
6. Perforation design
7. Sand control management
8. Well intervention techniques
9. Well performance match modeling
10. Integrated production enhancement
11. Test system or Analysis in PROSPER
12. Readiness of well stimulation proposal
13. Learning Reservoir Engineer job scope
14. Depletion strategy and drive mechanism
15. Oil & Gas resource estimation
16. MBAL Software & Pressure Transient Analysis
17. Reservoir performance analysis
18. Well performance & predictions
19. Numerical simulation
20. Production operations
Although the workloads seem to be lot, many of them have to be done
simultaneously as they have correlation and time constraint to done it. Therefore, the
whole thirteen weeks has to be packed with plenty of scopes to be covered. Besides
that, Intern also involve in event organization and media committee for Staff
Engagement Session that has been organized by Petroleum department in the first
week of March.
Besides that, most of the precious experience gained from the senior engineers
sharing session, meeting with different departments, collaboration with colleagues
and assisting others workloads. The tasks given are the major part of the assignment
for intern however those tasks related about the projects and basic application to
done particular job scope.
.
Working Experience
The three months internship period have many benefits for intern and
exposed number of real job scope. It helped the intern to gain lots of knowledge and
also understand the learning concepts during study life. This internship course has
been divided into major two job scopes which are Production Technologist (PTECH)
and Reservoir Engineering (RE). The first six weeks scheduled under PTECH and
the other six weeks were collaborated with RE. PTECH and RE have many common
assignments and projects to discuss together for enhancement purpose in production
department. Basically, RE plays a role related to reservoir maintenance and
supervises the production for long term and short term. PTECH mainly focussed on
maintaining the wells on every day’s basis and monitoring the production based on
data provided by offshore representatives. Therefore, both of the job has lots of
connections and the intern exposed to both to ease their understanding.
Brief Explanation about Internship Projects
1. Well Stimulation proposal
One of the main job scopes that have to be focussed under PTECH is
making proposal for reservoir or well problems. The proposals have its
particular purpose according to the problems occurred in wells. It might be
due to organic scale, wellbore damage, additional perforation, production
enhancement and so on which related to the wells. The project that intern
working on the well stimulation about the organic scale. The project is to
remove the organic scale from production line. Therefore, a proposal has to
be submitted for action plans to remove it. However, this is a long process
because there are few steps need to be consider such as solid proof,
modelling, analysis of well condition and some required data need to be
submitted together for approval from the higher management. This project
also cost a lot of budget so there should be more discussion and solid proofs
has to provide. Therefore, it takes about at least 4 weeks of time together with
other workloads.
2. Well modelling updates
PTECH also involve in well modelling sketches. Basically, many
software need to be integrated in order to provide precise models which will
give more accurate values. As mentioned before, to make the proposal it is
important to have accurate modelling designs in well production, gas lift
optimization and production enhancement issues. The software that has been
used are sophisticated and handful in order to solve mysteries in well
problems. Some of the particular modelling need to be understand widely
before making any decision. Interns also involved in many courses to learn
these software and handling it properly during the projects. Software such as
PROSPER and WinGLUE can helps to solve the gas lift optimization and can
predict the future performance of the production well in terms of liquid or oil
and gas. Well modelling supports huge data into 3D modelling so that it will
be easily can be explained to others.
3. Pressure transient analysis
The pressure transient gradient analysis (PTA) is another project done
by intern based on the reservoir maintenance. Basically, this analysis required
pressure data from offshore for creating the pressure changes by using
ACRIN software in order to provide the prediction of any stimulation job
done. It also useful for prediction of production purpose for long term so that
RE can understand the well circumstances in reservoir condition.
4. Analysis of potential wells
One of the project that has been done by intern is to find the potential
wells for enhancement purpose. In Baram department there were more than
200 well are located and some are idle wells. It is the project that has been
asked to done by senior engineer for identify the potential wells among those
idle wells for improvement purpose. This project took around at least two
weeks to finish since the data need to be arranged systematically. The intern
has been required to submit the report at the end of identification of potential
candidates (wells). This took longer because the analysis has to be done on
the production history of each wells and have to provide enough information
to prove the data. By learning the history, it can be identified whether the
well is still potential or not. Finally, intern successfully found three potential
wells and proposed to the senior engineering for further progress.
5. Assist Reservoir Engineer to prioritize reservoir
After week six intern working closing with the RE to assist them for
reservoir management especially to emphasize the potential of reservoirs. In
the Baram delta it has various types of reservoirs and they have different
behaviours of production and drive mechanism. Due to lack of man power
intern work as RE for emphasize the important reservoirs in Baram delta for
enhancement purpose. Reservoir have different properties due to its depth and
pressure where some of it have high API oil and others might have sand
issue. Therefore, it has to define clearly from the PVT data available to mark
the economical and potential reservoirs from few analysis. The results from
the analysis will be used to determine the reservoir that has huge potential
even though the production is low. Finally, there will be filtering process to
finalize for focus on particular reservoir (sands) for enhancement purpose.
6. Data management
In a very huge company with infinite numbers of data provided from
real field is really have to manage in a wise way. Some data are available for
every day, weekly or monthly and also sometimes yearly. Intern has been
given this task to manage data in a creative way from the beginning of the
internship time. Intern has to fulfil this task according to the standard given
from the supervisors and systematically arranged for future uses by engineers.
Therefore, since began to start this task there were few courses to attend for
understanding purpose in order to do data management. It is an opportunity to
learn creative way of data management which is very useful in future even as
a student in University. Finally, intern manage to find a solution by
connecting all the data into excel files and making filters to ease to search the
data needed by subjects and particular sub-categories.
Supervisory works
In the company intern is assigned to real projects and the data will be
required to the company for developing projects. Most of the time intern only
involve the daily works in office and only having meetings or leadership courses
outside the office. However it is very less or not much work is related to supervisory
jobs.
Coordinate the well production
The only supervisory works done by intern is the coordination of well production
every day. In other words, it can be said as the coordination of production changes
every day. It is the responsibility of intern to record the numbers or values of
production every day from the data provided by offshore representatives. Then, the
values will be recorded in to production files where the data management file were
located. The values must be rechecked few times to make sure there were no
differences in terms of large variations. If there were large variations from the data
collected before it is important to inform the engineers about the differences
immediately for any drastic actions. This will help them to monitor the production
and doing any analysis for keep on track.
Barriers Encountered During Internship
In a real job scope there were no easy to achieve success only sitting on the
fancy chair with table. But the ways to encounter any problems or barriers is very
important too. There were listed below some of the barriers faced during the
internship:
1. Data management
As mentioned before, the large numbers of values and collecting it daily basis
is not easy way to assemble. It is not like copy and paste the values that has been
collected. These numbers must be valid and can be useful in future for further
assignments or projects. Therefore to manage these data is very hard because
sometimes after it has been stored into some monitoring software it can just changing
itself while doing any analysis. Therefore, the data have to recheck again every time
before start any analysis and must be back up in few locations as precautions.
2. Understanding the software functions
Another barrier in a multi-national company is the knowledge or skills to use
the software provided for projects and analysis. As a beginner, intern have to
understand the concepts or the knowledge to make it simple. Intern has to learn from
the first to every inches of the software to understand the process and how it works to
provide an accurate results. Therefore, for about a month there were a huge barrier to
develop any analysis with applying basic knowledge. By reading manual it’s not easy
to find a solution for it. Thus, the only way to find out is by doing many examples of
demo programs and understand the concepts of each software in order to create the
results. Those ideas of program and the accuracy of each software is very important
to acknowledge before start any analysis where it will assist intern to gather better
information.
3. Real time problems in wells
One of the most difficult time is where there is problems occurred in site
damaging the facilities or endanger the production. Because, every time there is
problem in sites the engineers has to working hard and very efficient to overcome it.
As an intern there is important to find the required data for any analysis purpose and
have to be quick to find a solution for overcome it. It is the best way is to have back
up all the time as oil and gas industries can have any problems any time.
4. Numbers of workload
It has been experienced if have chance in working with large companies the
workload will be too much to handle as intern. As a beginner in certain company it’s
not easy to keep up with instant workloads and not simple to find out the solution for
it. Therefore, it is normal in large industries intern have to be proactive to solve any
problems or need to be effective in order to find solution of a problem. In this
company, intern has to be multi-tasking because the workload as per scheduled is not
much to manage but at the same time they have to involve with many other activities
such as training, IT courses, meetings, discussions, events and so on. However, it
helped an intern to be proactive at the end and remind them to be multi-task person
in any circumstances.
5. Time constraint
This internship period is not very long to fulfil the tasks given in oil and gas
companies because the workload is not short term process. In three months or almost
thirteen weeks it is very less to learn and keep up with every workloads without
extend the working hours or doing over time in weekend. Because many of the
workloads related to numerous analysis and the results is not easy to provide in short
term. The data only can be used in company and cannot brought it home for security
reasons. Therefore, as an intern they have to stay over for long time in company to
finish it. PETRONAS provide the internship more than 3 months up to 8 months and
they will evaluate or rate the intern form the final performance. However, three
months internship period still can be potentially used to learn lots of things.
Production Well Site Visit (ASAM PAYA Onshore field)
During the internship period, it has been arranged for interns to go onshore
field as site visit to understand the overall concepts of production and well bore
activities. Intern not allowed to get offshore since they have to get the special licence
for offshore which is not provided to intern by the company.
Well structure
The site visit gave an opportunity to intern in order to learn the reality of works or
jobs done in onshore field. It is the first time, at least interns allowed to go onshore to
visualize the reality of oil field and its well structure. This site visit emphasize
student or intern to learn more about how they build up the well by using casing,
Christmas tree, separators, gas lift supply, production pipeline and safety factor to
consider according to the locations as well.
Functions of instruments
In college its only learn through the basics without analyse the reality of wells which
will only imagine through the pictures and videos. In reality inters able analyse
themselves the functions of each instruments and the way it has been connected as
one whole process to produce oil and gas by filtering the water out of it and transfer
it to crude oil terminal. It is very exciting to see the real world of oil and gas rather
than spend time at office in front of computers.
Understand the job or career
It is a great opportunity for future engineers to learn a lot from the site visit since it
will remembered every single things that can be seen and relating it with the work
done by engineers in office. It can be observed how every simulation and analysis
that has been done by engineers verily related with the field. The results from the
analysis used by offshore or onshore field also can be visualized during the site visit.
By doing that, in future any analysis done in office related jobs can be easily relate
and more precaution ways can be drafted out for production enhancement.
Problems solving process or approach
As mentioned before, there were numerous problems have to be faced by
interns in order to achieve the best results. Thus, there should be number of ways to
overcome these barriers which will be discussed below:
1. Seeking assistance from colleague
As a beginner or an intern is not easy to solve any problems by ourselves.
The best ways to solve it by seeking assistance with others. Communicate more with
other colleagues about the problems will open the mind to refresh it. Because all
workers or engineers are willing to help the interns unless they were very busy. So, it
is an opportunity to learn new things and knowledge that they have will be very
helpful and easily can solve any problems. Basically, senior engineers have lots of
experience and they are ready to share with others since they became consultant for
particular job scope.
2. Discuss with engineers
The best option to solve any problem during internship period related to work
is to having discussion with other engineers. It is because they have been working for
years and well knowing about what an intern should do. They also knows a lots of
tricks and tips that can help intern with their assignments. It’s all about how to
interrupt them and engage them in a good manner. The professionals always busy but
they willing to help when they are needed. The curious and interesting the question is
the engineers became more capable to assist. Therefore, discussion with others
always improve knowledge in order to solve the problems and find out solutions
easily.
3. Join meetings with other career or department
The only place where all engineers are grouped together at particular time is
during the meeting session. In this session there will be number of engineers
involved from various departments where many of the topics will be discussed. The
great thing about meeting is sharing the opinion and discuss a topics in broad and
detail until other career representative will get the point. Therefore, it is an
opportunity to think critically and engage in meeting proactively by asking questions
and discuss the topics will improve the basis knowledge of intern. Besides that, it’s
also an opportunity to come up with good solution that will helpful for others by
responding individual opinion on the tasks that related to internship projects.
4. Doing more research and enrich understandings
As an intern it is important to understand what is supposed to do or which
tasks are they working on. Because, the basic knowledge of certain topics are really
important in order to achieve the solution. To do that, an intern supposed to be ready
with number of researches on that particular task to be discussed. Early education
always come from own research and interest in those topics before discuss much in
front of other experienced people. So it is the way that intern used to cope with
others to done all the assignments. A simple thing that has been done as preparation
is that revise back all the basics learned in college will improve the understanding
and assist to achieve better performance.

  • 6. Title and position of the supervisor in charge Mr. Samsul bari Bin M Said has been appointed as the supervisor for the three months internship program. He is a petrophysicist under Baram Delta Operation (BPE) and also the team leader for Baram Cluster operation. Besides Mr. Samsul, I has been appointed under two engineers from the same cluster to assist the program scheduled for internship period. I had worked closely with Mr. Hafizi (Production Technologist) and Mr. Helmi (Reservoir Engineer) in order to done the assignments and suggestions to make changes in real project if necessary. Summary of Duties The internship period was started since 1st of December 2014 until 27th of February 2015 which were approximately thirteen weeks including public holidays. The working time for Intern that had been fixed starts from 8.00am until 5.00pm everyday not include overtime. It has been scheduled over thirteen weeks for various topics and tasks as the assignments to be done. Additionally there were few other responsibilities besides assignments such as site visits, join daily and important meetings, event management and attend the staff engagement sessions. In this internship period I never took any leave or absent for work. The scheduled workloads from the first week until last week are as stated below: 1. Research & Study Basics 2. Learning Production technologist job scope 3. Sand face completion 4. Tubing design and well completion 5. Artificial lift 6. Perforation design 7. Sand control management 8. Well intervention techniques
  • 7. 9. Well performance match modeling 10. Integrated production enhancement 11. Test system or Analysis in PROSPER 12. Readiness of well stimulation proposal 13. Learning Reservoir Engineer job scope 14. Depletion strategy and drive mechanism 15. Oil & Gas resource estimation 16. MBAL Software & Pressure Transient Analysis 17. Reservoir performance analysis 18. Well performance & predictions 19. Numerical simulation 20. Production operations Although the workloads seem to be lot, many of them have to be done simultaneously as they have correlation and time constraint to done it. Therefore, the whole thirteen weeks has to be packed with plenty of scopes to be covered. Besides that, Intern also involve in event organization and media committee for Staff Engagement Session that has been organized by Petroleum department in the first week of March. Besides that, most of the precious experience gained from the senior engineers sharing session, meeting with different departments, collaboration with colleagues and assisting others workloads. The tasks given are the major part of the assignment for intern however those tasks related about the projects and basic application to done particular job scope. .
  • 8. Working Experience The three months internship period have many benefits for intern and exposed number of real job scope. It helped the intern to gain lots of knowledge and also understand the learning concepts during study life. This internship course has been divided into major two job scopes which are Production Technologist (PTECH) and Reservoir Engineering (RE). The first six weeks scheduled under PTECH and the other six weeks were collaborated with RE. PTECH and RE have many common assignments and projects to discuss together for enhancement purpose in production department. Basically, RE plays a role related to reservoir maintenance and supervises the production for long term and short term. PTECH mainly focussed on maintaining the wells on every day’s basis and monitoring the production based on data provided by offshore representatives. Therefore, both of the job has lots of connections and the intern exposed to both to ease their understanding. Brief Explanation about Internship Projects 1. Well Stimulation proposal One of the main job scopes that have to be focussed under PTECH is making proposal for reservoir or well problems. The proposals have its particular purpose according to the problems occurred in wells. It might be due to organic scale, wellbore damage, additional perforation, production enhancement and so on which related to the wells. The project that intern working on the well stimulation about the organic scale. The project is to remove the organic scale from production line. Therefore, a proposal has to be submitted for action plans to remove it. However, this is a long process because there are few steps need to be consider such as solid proof, modelling, analysis of well condition and some required data need to be submitted together for approval from the higher management. This project also cost a lot of budget so there should be more discussion and solid proofs has to provide. Therefore, it takes about at least 4 weeks of time together with other workloads.
  • 9. 2. Well modelling updates PTECH also involve in well modelling sketches. Basically, many software need to be integrated in order to provide precise models which will give more accurate values. As mentioned before, to make the proposal it is important to have accurate modelling designs in well production, gas lift optimization and production enhancement issues. The software that has been used are sophisticated and handful in order to solve mysteries in well problems. Some of the particular modelling need to be understand widely before making any decision. Interns also involved in many courses to learn these software and handling it properly during the projects. Software such as PROSPER and WinGLUE can helps to solve the gas lift optimization and can predict the future performance of the production well in terms of liquid or oil and gas. Well modelling supports huge data into 3D modelling so that it will be easily can be explained to others. 3. Pressure transient analysis The pressure transient gradient analysis (PTA) is another project done by intern based on the reservoir maintenance. Basically, this analysis required pressure data from offshore for creating the pressure changes by using ACRIN software in order to provide the prediction of any stimulation job done. It also useful for prediction of production purpose for long term so that RE can understand the well circumstances in reservoir condition. 4. Analysis of potential wells One of the project that has been done by intern is to find the potential wells for enhancement purpose. In Baram department there were more than
  • 10. 200 well are located and some are idle wells. It is the project that has been asked to done by senior engineer for identify the potential wells among those idle wells for improvement purpose. This project took around at least two weeks to finish since the data need to be arranged systematically. The intern has been required to submit the report at the end of identification of potential candidates (wells). This took longer because the analysis has to be done on the production history of each wells and have to provide enough information to prove the data. By learning the history, it can be identified whether the well is still potential or not. Finally, intern successfully found three potential wells and proposed to the senior engineering for further progress. 5. Assist Reservoir Engineer to prioritize reservoir After week six intern working closing with the RE to assist them for reservoir management especially to emphasize the potential of reservoirs. In the Baram delta it has various types of reservoirs and they have different behaviours of production and drive mechanism. Due to lack of man power intern work as RE for emphasize the important reservoirs in Baram delta for enhancement purpose. Reservoir have different properties due to its depth and pressure where some of it have high API oil and others might have sand issue. Therefore, it has to define clearly from the PVT data available to mark the economical and potential reservoirs from few analysis. The results from the analysis will be used to determine the reservoir that has huge potential even though the production is low. Finally, there will be filtering process to finalize for focus on particular reservoir (sands) for enhancement purpose. 6. Data management In a very huge company with infinite numbers of data provided from real field is really have to manage in a wise way. Some data are available for every day, weekly or monthly and also sometimes yearly. Intern has been
  • 11. given this task to manage data in a creative way from the beginning of the internship time. Intern has to fulfil this task according to the standard given from the supervisors and systematically arranged for future uses by engineers. Therefore, since began to start this task there were few courses to attend for understanding purpose in order to do data management. It is an opportunity to learn creative way of data management which is very useful in future even as a student in University. Finally, intern manage to find a solution by connecting all the data into excel files and making filters to ease to search the data needed by subjects and particular sub-categories. Supervisory works In the company intern is assigned to real projects and the data will be required to the company for developing projects. Most of the time intern only involve the daily works in office and only having meetings or leadership courses outside the office. However it is very less or not much work is related to supervisory jobs. Coordinate the well production The only supervisory works done by intern is the coordination of well production every day. In other words, it can be said as the coordination of production changes every day. It is the responsibility of intern to record the numbers or values of production every day from the data provided by offshore representatives. Then, the values will be recorded in to production files where the data management file were located. The values must be rechecked few times to make sure there were no differences in terms of large variations. If there were large variations from the data collected before it is important to inform the engineers about the differences immediately for any drastic actions. This will help them to monitor the production and doing any analysis for keep on track.
  • 12. Barriers Encountered During Internship In a real job scope there were no easy to achieve success only sitting on the fancy chair with table. But the ways to encounter any problems or barriers is very important too. There were listed below some of the barriers faced during the internship: 1. Data management As mentioned before, the large numbers of values and collecting it daily basis is not easy way to assemble. It is not like copy and paste the values that has been collected. These numbers must be valid and can be useful in future for further assignments or projects. Therefore to manage these data is very hard because sometimes after it has been stored into some monitoring software it can just changing itself while doing any analysis. Therefore, the data have to recheck again every time before start any analysis and must be back up in few locations as precautions. 2. Understanding the software functions Another barrier in a multi-national company is the knowledge or skills to use the software provided for projects and analysis. As a beginner, intern have to understand the concepts or the knowledge to make it simple. Intern has to learn from the first to every inches of the software to understand the process and how it works to provide an accurate results. Therefore, for about a month there were a huge barrier to develop any analysis with applying basic knowledge. By reading manual it’s not easy to find a solution for it. Thus, the only way to find out is by doing many examples of demo programs and understand the concepts of each software in order to create the results. Those ideas of program and the accuracy of each software is very important
  • 13. to acknowledge before start any analysis where it will assist intern to gather better information. 3. Real time problems in wells One of the most difficult time is where there is problems occurred in site damaging the facilities or endanger the production. Because, every time there is problem in sites the engineers has to working hard and very efficient to overcome it. As an intern there is important to find the required data for any analysis purpose and have to be quick to find a solution for overcome it. It is the best way is to have back up all the time as oil and gas industries can have any problems any time. 4. Numbers of workload It has been experienced if have chance in working with large companies the workload will be too much to handle as intern. As a beginner in certain company it’s not easy to keep up with instant workloads and not simple to find out the solution for it. Therefore, it is normal in large industries intern have to be proactive to solve any problems or need to be effective in order to find solution of a problem. In this company, intern has to be multi-tasking because the workload as per scheduled is not much to manage but at the same time they have to involve with many other activities such as training, IT courses, meetings, discussions, events and so on. However, it helped an intern to be proactive at the end and remind them to be multi-task person in any circumstances. 5. Time constraint This internship period is not very long to fulfil the tasks given in oil and gas companies because the workload is not short term process. In three months or almost thirteen weeks it is very less to learn and keep up with every workloads without extend the working hours or doing over time in weekend. Because many of the
  • 14. workloads related to numerous analysis and the results is not easy to provide in short term. The data only can be used in company and cannot brought it home for security reasons. Therefore, as an intern they have to stay over for long time in company to finish it. PETRONAS provide the internship more than 3 months up to 8 months and they will evaluate or rate the intern form the final performance. However, three months internship period still can be potentially used to learn lots of things. Production Well Site Visit (ASAM PAYA Onshore field) During the internship period, it has been arranged for interns to go onshore field as site visit to understand the overall concepts of production and well bore activities. Intern not allowed to get offshore since they have to get the special licence for offshore which is not provided to intern by the company. Well structure The site visit gave an opportunity to intern in order to learn the reality of works or jobs done in onshore field. It is the first time, at least interns allowed to go onshore to visualize the reality of oil field and its well structure. This site visit emphasize student or intern to learn more about how they build up the well by using casing, Christmas tree, separators, gas lift supply, production pipeline and safety factor to consider according to the locations as well. Functions of instruments In college its only learn through the basics without analyse the reality of wells which will only imagine through the pictures and videos. In reality inters able analyse themselves the functions of each instruments and the way it has been connected as one whole process to produce oil and gas by filtering the water out of it and transfer it to crude oil terminal. It is very exciting to see the real world of oil and gas rather than spend time at office in front of computers. Understand the job or career It is a great opportunity for future engineers to learn a lot from the site visit since it will remembered every single things that can be seen and relating it with the work
  • 15. done by engineers in office. It can be observed how every simulation and analysis that has been done by engineers verily related with the field. The results from the analysis used by offshore or onshore field also can be visualized during the site visit. By doing that, in future any analysis done in office related jobs can be easily relate and more precaution ways can be drafted out for production enhancement. Problems solving process or approach As mentioned before, there were numerous problems have to be faced by interns in order to achieve the best results. Thus, there should be number of ways to overcome these barriers which will be discussed below: 1. Seeking assistance from colleague As a beginner or an intern is not easy to solve any problems by ourselves. The best ways to solve it by seeking assistance with others. Communicate more with other colleagues about the problems will open the mind to refresh it. Because all workers or engineers are willing to help the interns unless they were very busy. So, it is an opportunity to learn new things and knowledge that they have will be very helpful and easily can solve any problems. Basically, senior engineers have lots of experience and they are ready to share with others since they became consultant for particular job scope. 2. Discuss with engineers The best option to solve any problem during internship period related to work is to having discussion with other engineers. It is because they have been working for years and well knowing about what an intern should do. They also knows a lots of tricks and tips that can help intern with their assignments. It’s all about how to
  • 16. interrupt them and engage them in a good manner. The professionals always busy but they willing to help when they are needed. The curious and interesting the question is the engineers became more capable to assist. Therefore, discussion with others always improve knowledge in order to solve the problems and find out solutions easily. 3. Join meetings with other career or department The only place where all engineers are grouped together at particular time is during the meeting session. In this session there will be number of engineers involved from various departments where many of the topics will be discussed. The great thing about meeting is sharing the opinion and discuss a topics in broad and detail until other career representative will get the point. Therefore, it is an opportunity to think critically and engage in meeting proactively by asking questions and discuss the topics will improve the basis knowledge of intern. Besides that, it’s also an opportunity to come up with good solution that will helpful for others by responding individual opinion on the tasks that related to internship projects. 4. Doing more research and enrich understandings As an intern it is important to understand what is supposed to do or which tasks are they working on. Because, the basic knowledge of certain topics are really important in order to achieve the solution. To do that, an intern supposed to be ready with number of researches on that particular task to be discussed. Early education always come from own research and interest in those topics before discuss much in front of other experienced people. So it is the way that intern used to cope with others to done all the assignments. A simple thing that has been done as preparation is that revise back all the basics learned in college will improve the understanding and assist to achieve better performance.
