Advanced Permissions for Magento extension enables the Super Admin to assign permissions to admin panel users for editing products, managing product categories, managing orders, customers design, newsletter, reports, promotions and configurations within specific catalogs, Magento store views and websites.

In System > Manage Aitoc Modules, check
Advanced Permissions and click “Save
modules settings” on the top right.

To set permissions on your catalog, you
need to either create a new Role or edit an
existing one.

If you wish to provide access to product
management for a Role, make sure the
“Manage Products” box is checked for it.
If you wish to provide access to CMS and
Reports for a Role, make sure respective
resources are made available to it.

To access product editing and product
creation permissions, you need to enable
Advanced Permissions first.

Check this box to allow sub-admins to
update global attributes for products
checked in Stores/Categories.
Choose this option to limit access by Store
View/Category. Then select one or several
Store Views with respective categories that
should be available to a Role.

If you check this box, the sub-admin will be
able to view and manage only the products
they created as well as the products for
which the sub-admin is the owner.
IMPORTANT! Global settings (section 7) can
override this setting. If you check this box, the sub-admin will
be able to manage Orders only for their
own products (the ones they created or
for which the sub-admin is the owner).

Check this box if you wish to limit access
to Role Resources by Website. Then select
the Websites that apply.

The tab becomes available when you
enable Advanced Permissions in the
respective tab.
Disable the Product you don’t want to
make available to sub-admin.
Unchecked tabs will be available to the
sub-admin user.

Here you can limit attribute editing for a
Role.
Allow - a Role can edit the attribute.
Deny - a Role cannot edit the attribute.
Inherited from Scope - default settings are
used for a Role. The Attribute is edited
according to the scope set in the next
column.
Tabs - the tabs in Product edit where this
attribute is displayed.
12. Aitoc6. Product creation permissions
Specify if the Role can create Products. If
they can, choose which types of products
the Role can create.
The tab becomes available when you
enable Advanced Permissions in the
respective tab.

The extension allows you to assign an
owner for any product in your Magento.
If you turn on “Allow to manage own
products only” setting for a sub-admin,
this person will be able to manage only
the product(s) he/she is assigned.

Click the user’s name to access editing
options and to assign him/her a Role.

The system shows products from allowed
categories only.
Only one Store View (or Website) is
available to the user with restricted
permissions.

The system shows the sub-admin
available categories only.
By default, the module hides the Delete
button from a user with restricted access.
To remove a Product front-end, they will
need to set Visibility attribute to Nowhere.

Find these settings under System > Configuration >
Advanced > Admin > Advanced Permissions
Allow a sub-admin to see all products or only the
products in categories assigned to them.
This setting overrides “Allow to manage own
products only” which you set in Role Information >
Advanced Permissions.
1.
Allow a sub-admin to view all customers or only
customers that are registered within the website(s)
available to the sub-admin.
2.
Allow a sub-admin to view products that don’t have
any categories associated with them.
3.
Allow/don’t allow a sub-admin to delete products,
product images and categories. Change this setting
either per Store View or per the entire Website.

If this setting is set to “Yes”, a product owner (sub-
admin) will be displayed for each product in Catalog
> Manage Products.

If you switch on product/category
approval, all new products/categories
created by sub-admins will automatically
get the “Awaiting approval” status.
Only the super-admin will be able to
enable such products/categories.
Once such product/category is enabled
by super-admin, no further approval for
edits is necessary.
The super-admin can filter “Awaiting
approval” products on the product grid.
