A wave cut platform formed as waves broke against the base of a cliff, eroding a notch. Repeated wave action at the cliff's base eroded a deep notch by breaking waves cutting into the rock below the cliff on multiple occasions. The notch was deeply incised into the rock by persistent and repeated wave action at the bottom of the cliff over time.
