2. Definition of Personal
Learning Network:
O Personal Learning Network is a group of people
who can contribute to my research by sharing
topic-related information with me, challenging me
with questions during my research, and providing
their knowledge and expertise (Tobin, 1998).

Strategies Web Site: http://www.tobincls.com/learningnetwork.htm
3. Topic Area and Rationale:
O Topic: Management of negative public
relations (PR) online.
O Rationale: I have chosen this topic
because some members of our class
seem to be dealing with this challenge as
they manage PR in their organizations. I
hope that my finding will be helpful to our
class in our communications careers.

7. Individual Learning Artifact:
In order to engage with people on my network, I would
do the following:
O Twitter- retweet their tweets; ask open ended
questions with hashtags that are used by them;
O Bloggers and other online sources: comment on
their blogs; Write a blog about the topic and
hyperlink the article in it
O Share Point – I will create an online SharePoint
account where I will share my final findings in terms
of power point slide deck
8. Group Collaboration Plan:
O When doing my research I will also keep an eye
on any information about stakeholder
relationships, public and private sector
partnerships, and engagement ideas between
the public and universities.
O If I see the above related topics, I will share the
link to the articles with my group using hashtag
(#COMM503_C1).
