2. The music video begins with an establishing shot of the band ‘The Who.’ The
camera then cuts to a midshot of a ‘guitarist’ appearing to hold his guitar above
his head. The camera then cuts to a extreme close up shot of the bands name, by
zooming in on the drum. The sequence pauses, following a diegetic sound of a
‘guitar, and drum being introduced to the video.
3. The camera then cuts to an establishing shot of a younger band. The
establishing shot appears to be recorded in a black and white tint,
emphasising ‘The Who’ have travelled back to the past, similar to a flash
back of when the group were younger. Suddenly the camera cuts to a
midshot of a former group singer showing to be in a younger generation.
The short sequence is then followed by diegetic sound of the chorus being
pronounced. After the camera then cuts to a close up shot of the leading
performer face. This is established because due to the singers mise en
scene, holding the micro phone, and the only person to have stylish clothing
and hair.
4. The camera then cuts to a close up shot of the singer face. The shot
appears to be in bright colour, displaying the mise en scene props
such as the flowers in the males hair. This links back to a modern
representation of the man as he appears to show is youth by placing
bright yellow flowers in a crown around his head. We can also
establish that the performers appears to be younger due to its non
wrinkled face, and smart grey suit.
5. Finally the camera cuts back to a long shot of a guitarist. The
guitarists appears to have converted back in to the present date
as he appears to be older looking , due to his beard and
wrinkled face, followed by the performers less bright and mature
pale jacket.
