1. My Personal Credo
Eden M. Salimbot
I have come to regard teaching as my primary professional responsibility.
Coming from the corporate world, I have met people who lack the facility
of language, I feel sorry for fresh graduates who fail the job interview because
they do not know how to respond to questions appropriately and cannot express
themselves clearly. Then I realized that there is something to be done for these
young people. I have decided to shift career to help raise young people to be the
best person that God wants them to be and help them express their thoughts to
get things done.
In being one of the academic heads, we take privilege in running activities
and programs. An American management consultant, Peter F. Drucker said,
“Rank does not confer privilege or give power. It imposes responsibility.” This
constantly reminds me to be on my toes whenever I handle or lead any
endeavor. We should approach such leadership with a God-given vision of what
can be accomplished when we are the type of leader God intends for us to be.
I bring a lot of energy to my class to help them get excited to meet the
challenges of each day. One big task I take is to facilitate their learning process. I
personally consider the children as one of the responsibilities that God has given
me to help improve their lives as children of God.
I dream to be a saint and part of my vision is to bring the people I
encounter with me in heaven. I am a teacher not only in school but also in my
circle of influence.
