1. How does the narrator feel about her mother in the first half of the story?
Describe their relationship and the world Annie inhabitants.
A: they had a very good relationship, because they enjoy their time together, the
girl lover her mom, because she pay attention to her all the time.
2. What the items stored in Annie’s mother’s trunk represent?
A: all the stuff that she had in there were the first things that her daughter used and
she wanted to remember that every moment of their life.
3. At the point is Annie‘s idyllic existence first threatened? Discuss the different
incidents that illustrate a change in the relationship between Annie and her mother?
A: their relationship changes because she found her mother with her father in the
bed having sex and that was the worst thing for her and since that moment she was
not the same with her mother.
4. Why does Annie’s mother suddenly refuse her request to look through the items
in the trunk? What does she mean when she says, ´´You and I don’t have time for
that anymore?
A: because she knew that she was not girl and she had a lot of things to do in order
to be a lady with good manners, so that is why she was mad when she asked to her
about that.

2. A: she wanted to change her life, her friends and everything she wanted to live good
experiences, she did not wanted to find people that she knew.
6. Why does Annie way pull her hand away from her father’s as they are walking
together at the end of the story?
A: because of the things that she found her father doing with her mom, that was
terrible for her, she was angry with him because of that, even that his father did no t
change at all.
7. What connection can you make between Annie’s infatuation with Gwen and her
altered relationship with her mother? Why, at the story’s end does Annie tellher
mother everything that had happened that day, ´´leaving out, of course, any mention
at all of Gwen?
A: changed the way that she was in the new school because she disappointed of her
mother so she did not wanted to obey her, what she wanted that she has to be a lady
with good manners, so she changed his likes.
