As part of a Department of Defense Directive for all military installations to install Physical
Access Control Systems, Fort Bragg will soon begin using the Automated Installation Entry
System (AIE). The AIE system is designed to leverage technology and validate credentials
against authoritative databases in near-real-time. One of the primary purposes of AIE system is
to cut down on human errors at access points, such as expired identification or restricted access.
Card holders will be asked to drive up to an AIE pedestal scanner and swipe their DOD ID card.
Once the card is read, the individual's credentials will be instantaneously validated against
federal and Fort Bragg records. Guards will still be present to monitor the information retrieved
from the card swipe, and once access credentials are verified, entrance will be granted.
All Active Duty Military, their Family Members, Retirees, Reservists, and DoD Civilians
permanently residing in the Fort Bragg area have already been, or will be, automatically
registered in AIE via DEERS. With bulk registration from DEERS you should have access to Fort
Bragg when AIE goes live. Fort Bragg plans to continue periodic bulk registrations as we get
closer to actual implementation. If you are temporarily assigned to Fort Bragg, most likely your
data has not have been downloaded from DEERS. For persons in these situations, it is
necessary that you register manually at the All American Visitor Control Center (VCC). DOD
visitors from other installations must register manually one-time in AIE.
INSTRUCTION FOR VISITOR PASSES (paper only):
1. Visitor Passes will be issued to all non-DoD affiliated persons with a valid reason for entering
the installation.
2. A visitor pass can be issued for up to 30 days.
3. For a visitor pass for 1-10 days no DoD sponsor is required in person at the All American
Visitor Center.
4. Passes for 11-30 days requires the requester to have a valid DoD identification cardholder
sponsor be with them in person when they register at the All American Visitor Center for a visitor
pass.
5. A security vetting process will be completed on each non-affiliated DoD individual prior to
receiving a visitor pass. This includes all non-affiliated passengers riding in a non-affiliated
person's vehicle.

Free Workshop for Parents and Families of Children with
Disabilities and Special Needs – The Exceptional Children’s
Assistance Center (ECAC), the Cumberland County Special
Education PTA (SEPTA) Committee, and the Cumberland
County District PTA Council (CCDPTAC) are sponsoring a FREE
workshop for parents and families of children with disabilities
and special needs. The workshop titled “5 Steps to Becoming
Your Child’s Best and Most Effective Advocate” will take place on
Monday, September 16 from 6:15 – 8:15 p.m. at Max Abbott
Middle School. Workshop attendees will learn the following: (1)
how to become your child’s best advocate; (2) IDEA ’04 and other
important laws; (3) communicating effectively with your child’s
teacher and other professionals; (4) tips for successful meetings;
and (5) keeping records, and much more. For more information,

 September is Suicide Prevention Month, a chance for service members
and their loved ones to focus on the things that matter. And, anyone can
help. Whether a service member has just returned home, or served years
ago, their experiences remain with them. Their wounds might not be visible,
but they need our attention. We can support those who are dealing with
challenges of all kinds; we’re in this together.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) urges groups and individuals

 Ambassador Network Launches to Help Military Spouses
Find Jobs
In its quest to educate, empower and mentor military spouses to
encourage their pursuit of careers, the Spouse Ambassador
Network is a collaboration of SECO’s Military Spouse Employment
Partnership and various military support organizations, including
AUSA Family Programs. Through a series of working groups, the
military spouses developed a mission statement and developed
what the Spouse Ambassador Network is today. At the first Spouse
Ambassador Network roundtable in July, a toolkit of education
and career resources was developed and will be made available to
military spouses through the network and the SECO program, she
added. The organizations that are part of the network have
developed tools, resources and mentoring programs for military
spouses that complement the tools and resources of DOD’s SECO
program. The organizations offer a series of online networking for
military spouses to talk to other military spouses to find out about
opportunities, education and entrepreneurial opportunities. Read

Car Give-A-Way Campaign in Its
2nd Year – The Beasley Broadcast
Group “Driven 2 Excel” program,
designed to reward CCS’ seniors who
have achieved high levels of academic
achievement and exemplary attendance
records, is launching its second annual
program this month. In conjunction
with the CCS and other community
partners, the Beasley Broadcast Group
has joined with Rick Hendrick Toyota
Scion to reward qualifying students
with fantastic incentives for scholastic
performance. This year, Fort Bragg
Federal Credit Union has joined the
campaign and will offer a total of $5,000
in scholarships. To qualify for the
program, a student must have no more
than five absences during the campaign
and achieve a weighted, cumulative
G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher during the

 The ACAP Process
The ACAP process works best when initiated
early. Allowing Soldiers to start early provides
you and the Soldier the flexibility needed to
prevent a conflict between mission requirements
and ACAP services. It also ensures compliance
with timeliness standards and promotes the
program’s effectiveness. As they prepare for
transition, Soldiers need an average of 40
hours, spread over a six-month period of time, to
take advantage of ACAP services. The
goodness of the program cannot be realized
during clearing. For more information on
timeliness requirements and the need to start
