The document announces a call for applications from qualified nurses and midwives in Uganda for 5 Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Professional Fellowships (CPFs). a. Personal Statement (500 words Maximum): This should cover all of the following
i. Your demonstrated commitment to your professional field
ii. Your demonstrated desire and ability to attain or foster transferable skills of
benefit to your home facility, employer, SAfRI, Ministry of Health as well as to
Uganda
iii. How you will implement what you have learnt during the fellowship upon your
return to your employment
iv. What impact you expect your learning during the fellowship to have within your
own profession and within the Country
v. Which sustainable Development goal (SDG) your proposed fellowship
Programme will most closely address (for information on SDGs, see the link

b. Objectives: List the main objectives for the fellowship and how will each of the objectives
be met by the fellowship Programme
i. Immediate (upto 4 objectives and the plan for each),
ii. within the next two years (upto 3 objectives and the plan for each)
iii. in the long term (upto 2 objectives and the plan for each),
4. Key documents
a. Copies of the academic transcripts and Certificates,
b. Certificate of registration/ practicing license
c. Two Letters of Support: These should be from a) your current head of
Programme/section/ department and b) a commitment letter from your home
employer.
d. A copy of passport details page
Note that the above documents must be in Microsoft word or PDF only formats and any application
without any of those documents will be automatically considered ineligible. These documents
required for the initial selection process at SAfRI are also those that will be submitted to the CSC
and so must be of excellent quality.

Following consideration by the Fellowship selection committee, the Top Five (05) applicants will be
invited by the Thursday 29th
November 2019 to complete the online CSc EAS Application up to 2nd
December 2018 in the SAfRI office, where a final decision will be made.
