Theodore Kaplin is a hardened 40-year-old detective and war veteran for the LAPD who has become cynical over the years. He believes in justice but sees much corruption. He is pushing himself to solve a string of brutal murders in LA while battling alcoholism. A vigilante called "Dahlia" also seeks justice, but through extreme violence. Little is known about him except he has military training and detective skills. He is mistakenly believed to be the real "Dahlia Killer." The detective - Theodore Kaplin - age early 40's
Hardened detective and war veteran. After serving in the war
Kaplin decided to put his skill towards the LAPD. His view on
life has become ever cynical since his enlistment in the war.
He believes in truth and justice but finds it ever so hard to
see these principles as a reality as he witness's his fellow
co-workers consumed by police corruption. He is a recovering
alcoholic and lives his life as if every day is his last.
However the recent strings of brutal murders have pushed him
to his limit as he starts to reach for the bottle.

Little is known about him however his view of justice is an
extreme of Kaplin's view. He's violent and would do anything
to get his answers. He believes that the only way to justice
is brute force. Is he insane or is he a hero no one knows.
Paper's speculate that he may have served in the war due to
his witness reports of the skills he has . As well as training
his body to its physical peak he's trained his mind in a
number of detective methods. He is known by the people as
dahlia since the papers believe he is the dahlia killer
responsible for the recent murders. He is currently the main
suspect for the recent string of murders and is known mistake
as the dahlia killer by the newspapers. Finally he is known by
his gravely and deep inhuman voice.

Based on the true story of the Elizabeth short murder of 1947
the killer in real life was never caught and only killed one
person however in this narrative he/she is re - imagined as a
shadowy figure praying on any unfortunate soul prowling the
streets of LA at witching hour. However the reason behind this
killings may not just be the killing of a psychopath; these
killing mean something much bigger something leading back
towards the mysterious Elysian company.
2. Elysian co. ltd and the drug Euphoria
The Elysian co. are the typical shadowy faceless corporate
business and the producers of the new designer drug euphoria
marketed as a drug that increases morale during the war .The
drug was later discontinued as it was proven to cause
dangerous side effects such as insanity and death. However
the drug still remains in circulation around the streets of LA
by a mysterious provider and its effects are disastrous as
the amount crime has significantly increased. But with its
arrival marks the arrival of the mysterious vigilante the
papers call "Dahlia".
Elizabeth Short - age 22
In real life Elizabeth Short was found mutilated, her on
January 15, 1947, in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, California.
The murder was much publicised and received the moniker "The
Black Dahlia". The unsolved Murder case has been the source of
a widespread speculation of suspects, along with several film
and book adaptations around the story. In our adaptation of
the story she shares the same life with her real life
counterpart however our story tries to fill in the holes in
the case linking her death to a much bigger case in the
shadows.
