2. Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Silence of The Lambs)
1
Hannibal Lector is known for being a brilliantly
sadisBc madman. Unlike most other horror
villains, he is a genius in his own right. He does
not need to wield a chainsaw or an axe, his
deadly stare and tone of voice is enough to send
shivers down his audiences’ spines.
3. Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street)
2
You can stay out of the woods or the basement, but you can’t
stop sleeping. The cliché murder‐chase got a whole lot harder
to run away from, as Elm’s Streets teenage inhabitants’ dreams
are plagued with their biggest fears‐ turning sub‐consciousness
into reality. That’s what makes dream‐demon Freddy Krueger a
formidable killer.
4. Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
3
Leatherface may be a mentally‐retarded, physically disfigured, in‐
bred hill‐billy, but put a chainsaw in his hands and he’s likely to
kill a school bus of teens and enjoy a human barbeque the
following day.
5. Pinhead (Hell Raiser)
4
Admirably known as Pinhead, due to his physical appearance. Despite
the unimaginaBve and obviously accurate deconstrucBve name, his
role on Earth is rather a ‘puzzle’. Pinhead is the guardian to the
gateway to hell, which can only be opened when one solves the
Lemarchand puzzle box. Pinhead and his entourage have the role of
awarding the ‘prize’ to those whom are lucky or smart enough to
unlock the puzzle‐ with the prize usually consisBng of the person being
pierced with disembodied metal hooks, and agonizingly being torn
asunder over the course of infinite lives!
6. Jason Voorhees (Friday 13th)
5
Either as a figment of imaginaBon or in the flesh, Jason
appears in every novel, comic, and film. He stalks and
kills the inhabitants of Camp Crystal Lake, feeling a
burning need to avenge the death of his beloved
mother, Pamela.
7. Michael Myers (Halloween)
6
As a child, Michael was
admiaed into a
psychiatric hospital for
the murder of his older
sister, Judith Myers. Aber
15 years of capBvity,
Myers broke out of the
asylum and for 23 years,
he hunted down and
murdered his younger
sister, Laurie Strode, and
the rest of his family.
8. Chucky (Child’s Play)
7
Chucky (also known as the ‘Lakeshore Strangler’) is a former voodoo
pracBBoner, who upon his near‐death experience created a ritual to
allow his soul to live on in a doll’s body. Despite his small size and
plasBc body, Chucky apparently has strength of a grown man and gets
his revenge on the people that almost killed him.
9. Jigsaw (Saw series)
8
‘A#er a failed suicide a/empt, Kramer experienced a new
respect for his own life and set out to force others
through deadly trials to help them appreciate their own
lives by tes>ng their will to live through self‐sacrifice. The
tests were typically symbolic of what Jigsaw perceived as
a flaw in each person's moral character or life. The
Jigsaw name was given by the media for his prac>ce of
cuFng puzzle pieces out of the flesh of those who failed
their ordeals and perished, symbolic of their missing
survival ins>ncts.’ – Source: Wikipedia.org
